Half Moon Bay Inn

Sharie was such a wonderful person. Really went above and beyond to ensure my things were safe/secure and even put my luggage in my room when I wasn't going to be back in time for check-in (I dropped it off early so I can venture in HMB). Wonderful communication throughout the day. The bed, pillow, and linens are an absolute DREAM. The towels are plush, soft, fresh, and wonderful to the touch. I wish I didn't have to make this note bc everything else truly was wonderful but there is no AC (common in the bay area) but there was a heat advisory this day so I had to keep the windows open. And while the location is excellent as it's right on Main St. - you get the good w/ the not so good - the street noise. I am a very light sleeper and have trouble staying asleep. This was probably my error - I should have done more research about being right on Main St. I woke up about 12-15 times throughout the night and scored a 0/20 on my Apple Watch for sleep interruptions due to the constant cars being cars on Main St. I even had my sleep tailored airbuds on with ambient sleep sounds to drown out the cars (SoundCore 40 - bc I know I'm a light sleeper). There's also a restaurant right across so it gets really loud up until 10-11pm or so. I don't think this impacts most travelers but it really impacted me bc of my unusually light sleeping issues and bc I was going to work the next day. So if this is you - keep this in mind. Otherwise, everything else was great, especially the people. :)

The HMB Inn was cute, cozy and very clean. Other than ice and a glass of wine, it didn’t have any amenities. The cleaning staff began their jobs too early with a lot of bumping, banging, and thumping. It did not allow for a peaceful and serene morning. I would suggest they alter the cleaning schedule to not start until after 10 am.

Street noise

Outside patio was a nice feature. Enjoyed my morning coffee sitting outside.

Perfect location in Half Moon Bay in a charming Italian European style hotel. It has stairs no elevator but that wasn't a problem for us. The bed was very high for me so they brought me a stool which was perfect.

The office door was locked when we arrived. The desk clerk, Jamie, was away eating, and took several minutes to arrive when we called. She was angry because we didn't answer her earlier phone call. (We were driving.) She reported us as a "no show" because we didn't answer. Then she charged us $15 more per night than our reservation confirmation. This was NOT a nice experience. The rooms are very small, with oversize furniture that blocked the door to the bathroom, and made it difficult to move around. The bathtub was rusty. No place for luggage.

Location in the center of town, great small inn ambiance. No A/C - just fans so it was warm at night. Also parking was iffy, luckily we found a spot but didn’t dare move once we got into the lot.

I was given some bizarre check in instructions for "if I arrived after 6 pm" which is way too early for them to not be staffed. NO AIR CON and a noisy ceiling fan.

Location was in the center of the downtown. The building had old world charm, and was updated nicely. The Inn provided several nice touches, artisan soaps, sweet glassware, in room coffee/maker, and a text message when our room was available. Downtown HMB is charming and with nice shops/restaurants. We would stay again! Pillows! Nice feather pillows would have fit the price paid for the room. A little something to get you going in the morning would have been nice as well, a muffin, croissant, etc.. We stayed on a Friday evening and our room faced the street, which produced quite a bit of noise, but died down about 11ish.

The location was great There was no ac and with the windows open there was barely any breeze but the street noise and dumpster slamming, people yelling, and restaurant noise made it impossible to sleep. The bed was also hard and uncomfortable.

Delightful

Great location. Very friendly check in service, being escorted to your room a nice touch. Loved having Coffee and wine available. outdoor area was perfect for breakfast,happy hour and later evening with fire pits. Also delicious breakfast at your chosen time. Would definitely recommend.

Sucha charming hotel. I loved the vibe. Great case for couples for a weekend getaway. Perfect location. The bed was too soft for my likig, but probably OK for most.

Room was very hot and stuffy, even with the fan on and windows open. Communal fridge in the hall felt a bit like a hostel. Baseboards could have used a deep clean.
