This property features outdated rooms that are not well-maintained. The rooms have an unpleasant, musty odor, and the beds are in poor condition. The facility needs to update its furnishings and facilities. Despite attempts to address these issues by changing rooms multiple times, the problem persisted in every room. The staff did make efforts to assist, but the overall quality remains unsatisfactory.

Excellent hotel that truly values their guest. The hotel provides little hospitality touches that makes it unique. The decor is worth a visit on its own.

Very good hotel. Clean. The bed was extremely Comfortable. The people working there were excellent especially at the front desk. Only room for improvement was probably the restaurant which was a very underwhelming experience.

Great room and enjoyed room service breakfast on our balcony overlooking the pool. The pool itself is small for a hotel of its size.

Very good location right next to the museum of fine arts and walking distance to the Rice U campus. Quite with a nice view from the balcony.

Love the location of the hotel. It was in the museum district, so you can walk to most of the museums. The area also has beautiful parks that are well maintained. The hotel decor was contemporary with touches of modern and nostalgic pictures. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help. We enjoyed our stay and would stay at the hotel again.

Place is a scam. They charge you for everything including $5 for WiFi that doesn’t even work. It is 2026 who the heck is charging for WiFi? Dark and weird vibes no clue how this place made the Michelin list

The room was cool in the Houston heat. Usually we have a hard time getting a room comfortable cool in TX Nothing

The room views are spectacular. I especially recommend the Junior Suite—the space and views really elevated the experience. There are, however, some areas that could use improvement. The rooms feel surprisingly under-equipped for a hotel at this level: not enough complimentary water, no silverware, and no in-room tea or coffee setup. Some of the furniture and appliances, particularly the refrigerator and TVs, also feel dated and could use better maintenance or upgrading. I was also underwhelmed by Monarch, the hotel restaurant. The food and overall dining experience were only mediocre. Given the hotel’s fantastic location and atmosphere, it’s a shame the restaurant isn’t a destination in its own right. It has a lot of potential but could certainly benefit from stronger management and greater attention to the quality of the overall dining experience. Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay and would return, particularly for the unbeatable location, wonderful staff, and incredible views. With some updates to the rooms and improvements to the restaurant, Hotel ZaZa could offer a truly outstanding experience.
