Sawmill Creek by Cedar Point Resorts

My first time at this hotel. It is a very well maintained and clean hotel. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well.The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately we aren’t able to golf due to rain, but hopefully we’ll come back and be able to golf.

The hotel and the grounds were very well groomed. Why there was NO avilable food service on the property for lunch is beyond me. Rules! you need them at a swimming pole that is over full. You don't allow teenagers to throw footballs and hit people in the face. Secondly why are people allowed to hold 4 chase chairs for the day besides the two they are using. They need to take a look at these issues

Staff were all pleasant and helpful, The meals in the restaurant were excellent and loved the Starbucks and store for snacks. Pool was perfect as it was very hot, only drawback is that it’s near a sports complex so many kids running around

We loves our stay at the Resort. The rooms were clean, the pool was awesome and the staff was somewhat helpful. My only issue was they knew we were going to Cedar Point durning our stay and never offered us the free parking pass that went with our stay. We found out after the fact that when satying with this hotel we also got free parking and discounted tickets for Cedar Point. I just wished we woudl have been given this information before going into the park and paying outrageous prices. My other issue is why does the pool and hot tub close so early. I wish they would have at least had the pool open later in the evening for all guest.

Early check-in and pleasant stay

Everything was good. Bathroom set up sucks, and the AC made everything damp. Beautiful property and convenient location.

The property was very nice and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only improvements could be putting out some free coffee and water in the lobby for people to have as they were coming in or waking up in the morning.

The property is in the right place with plenty to do on site. The little league baseball families were a bit overwhelming and took away from an adult’s get away. Wish I known that when I booked. We will come back after baseball season.

We enjoyed our stay from check-in to check-out. The resort was clean, the staff was friendly, and there was plenty for our family to do. The indoor and outdoor pools were a big hit with the kids, and the location made it easy to enjoy Cedar Point while still having a relaxing place to come back to. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other families visiting the area.

Absolutely awesome hotel/ resort. I would call sawmill a resort and not a hotel. It’s a huge facility with 2 restaurants and an awesome coffee shop/cafe. The golf course is great and so is the pub at the golf course. I did not eat at Millers restaurant. The outdoor pool is resort like. Large, clean, warm, and plenty of lounge seating. Just a really good place to stay outside of Sandusky. It’s in a quiet area and close to Huron township which is on the water with good places to eat.

More onsite activities should be done at the pool to make it more resort like. Also, it would benefit guests and the hotel if the pool bar was open so people can purchase snacks and drinks. The property layout is too spread out. Being handicapped, rooms were WAY too far from lobby, restaurants and the pool area. For this property and others…I don’t feel that the “send someone to the pool early to lay towels on all the pool chairs” is a good policy. We went to the pool early, a couple people were there but no chairs were available since they were all “taken” (by towels)

Checked in around 11:30 at night after we had been in the Cedar Point Park all day we were totally exhausted so didn’t bother to check the beds when my daughter woke up in the morning. Her arm was completely bitten from bedbugs also housekeeping banged on our door at 8:30 AM and asking if our room could be cleaned when checkout was 11 AM since we were off we decided to go to the pool and arrive back at the room around 10:30 to pack up our stuff to be checked out by 11 in housekeeping banged on our door again around 1040 asking when we were gonna be out of the room. I had really high hopes for this hotel because it had good reviews, but after my daughter‘s arm was completely bitten and nothing done about it in several disturbances from housekeeping. Also, when we arrived late last night, there was absolutely nowhere to park. I literally had to make a parking spot up on a curb of grass to avoid having to walk from the front of the hotel all the way to the back alone in pitch black darkness. I don’t think I would ever stay at this hotel again.

We have stayed here 3 or 4 times, and it is always very well maintained, has clean rooms, and friendly staff.

Housekeeping swept hallway at 8 am on Sunday. Three maids hacked in the hallway for 10 min right outside my door at 930 am until I opened the door and then they all went to work. Doors slam shut constantly and way too loudly. Could always hear people in hallway and in next rooms and above us. Floors and walls are paper thin, no sound proofing at all. I will never stay here again. Even a Hampton inn or a third rate hotel is better than this.

The room was a decent size that accommodated our needs. I was not expecting to have two restaurants on campus, Mulligans Pub was a nice little spot to eat while looking over the pond. The location was good for our travel needs between Cedar Point and Kalahari Resort. My only complaint is the pillows on the king sized bed were so small, not long enough for my needs, as well as the bed was a little to firm for my liking.
