Checked in Friday night no problems. Assigned a third floor room. Saturday morning the elevator was out of service and stayed that way the entire time I was there. Ridiculous!

Unfortunately, the prior guest left the alarm in the room set for 6:11 am, that made me very unhappy as I had nowhere to be until 9am. This is something the housekeeping should be checking or add to their list. Way too early for the lazy Saturday morning I had planned!

I needed to be in Joliet and not 30 minutes away. Just because you couldn’t be reached to cancel or schedule something closer I was denied my refund. As a member I’m totally disappointed!!

The elevator was non operational during our stay- we were on 3 rd floor but what was worse is that we were right next to stairs and heard doors opening, slamming and suitcases being drug up and down stairs all evening and in the morning. Shower had only like warm water on max setting. Breakfast was quite limited and we were told by staff they serve whatever is “left” from Sat and Sunday. It is a newer clean hotel and I expected more.

Our home had a weird smell

So this is not something i typically do but i feel that i would be doing a disservice to the area by not sharing my personal experience with the Marriot by I 55 in Joliet, IL from the past 2 days. First off it was really really nice and enjoyable that every single part of the hotel that i came into contact with was very clean and nice, I honestly really very much enjoyed my stay with them and am looking forward to the next 7 to 8 weeks in which I will be staying there Monday - Friday while I'm in town for work. also the staff has been very helpful and friendly and the breakfast is very good as well. i genuinely cant think of a single thing they could have done to improve my time there and I'm not just saying that either. no one there asked me to write this review and I'm not getting anything or benefitting in any way whatsoever by writing this review. Every word of it is very genuine and sincere to be honest i normally don't leave reviews for anything much less a hotel! And if by some odd chance i do happen to leave one its usually either because of a negative experience or because someone asked me to and i felt obligated and even them its usually one or two words max so the fact that i took the time out of my day to write this paragraph should tell you everything you need to know regarding the quality of this hotel, their staff, and whether or not you should choose to stay with them the next time your in town.

Highly recommend. Staff were friendly and professional. Hotel was clean, rooms were clean. Perfect for our one night stay. It was quiet. Beds were comfortable. We will use this hotel again in the future.

The steel doors to the room which are fire proof but not sound proof are super heavy
