Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel

Great location. Room assigned ocean view next to sanctuary, nice to see birds flying and gentle sounds. Walkable restaurants, markets. Cove beach. Room air conditioner can be tricky. To keep room cool, close blinds. Reusable water bottles given at ckeck-in. Water filters and ice near elevator in floor. Fridge and kreurig provided. Coffee shop and shave ice is good.

We originally only visited the hotel for the Big Island Luau which was great then our flight was cancelled and we needed a hotel for one night and got a room. The king bed room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The only problem we had was with the shower that was clogged so the water filled up to your ankles. We contacted front desk and no one was able to help us because the engineers were gone for the day. They did offer us new room but it was after midnight and we were too tired to move. The breakfast buffet was delicious and hotel staff was very nice. Besides the flooded shower it was a nice stay for us.

Bathroom needs upkeeping. Front desk staff not as pleasant as they used to be.

Amazing family hotel!

When we checked in, we were given the wrong room number and had to go back to front desk to confirm our room number and then got sent to the correct room. We had two rooms with our family but were on two separate floors and different wings of the hotel

House keeping did not show up in spite of repeated calls to the front desk. The wrist bands stopped working after a couple of days. The lady at the front desk and the Assistant Manager were extremely, rude, impolite, and disrespectful. The Assistant Manager was in fact very loud and abusive ion her interaction. I strongly encourage people to find a better place since this is not the kind of customer service anyone should be subject to, especially after paying such an exorbitant price. Our vacation dollars would have been better spent somewhere else - totally disappointed.

This hotel is in a great location to explore Kona. That’s the reason to stay here. It’s very old and doesn’t look like it’s ever been updated or remodeled. Staff was average at best. Day one we had a cleaning lady bust into our room one hour after check in without knocking. Not a good look. There was a young, super obnoxious and cocky pool boy walking around the pool like he owned the place. Short, rude, napoleon complex. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Beware that if you request an ocean view room, you are likely going to get a large view of the lobby roof top and and tiny view of the ocean to the side. They were kind of sneaky about this. Some people are okay with a view of the roof top but if you are turned off by looking out and seeing a black flat surface for your ocean view. you really need to request an ocean view. pool was good as well as the restaurant
