The kids club is more like a nursery

What an incredibly beautiful hotel! Our stay was absolutely fantastic. Everything was top tier and worth the money. I can’t say enough about the views, it could have possible been the best ones I’ve ever seen at a hotel. The beach at the hotel was stunning and perfect for snorkeling. We saw turtles and tons of fish. The beach hospitality coupled with the view and the prime waters was spectacular. Behind the beach is the pool with everything you need and more. There’s towels, sunscreen, great food and service. I could go on and on. The resort fees are expensive but you truly pay for what you get. We had a very late flight and the hotel offers a hospitality suite for you to shower and freshen up after the 11am checkout. I can’t recommend it enough. I’ll be back as soon as I can!

Great property great hotel. You have to pay literally for everything even to tan. It’s open to public so people who are not the guest of the hotel are everywhere. Food is very mid you can find better food in the city. Great place for vibes

Beautiful, clean, excellent service. Loved the welcome. A few more dining options as only 2 when we were there onsite as the the poolside option was booked for private event.

Restaurant was not good and overpriced

The rooms, location and pools were lovely. The decor was beautiful. The restaurants market as high end fine dining, however they seat patrons straight from the beach with children next to patrons who are dressed for an occasion. And the wait for food from the kitchen can be extremely long.

Staff members like Melyssa (check-in), Noriah (food server), Ari (food and beverage manager), Christian (front desk manager) really showed me how 1 hotels elevate their brand. The entire property is incredible.

The people were by far the best part of our stay and the reason we would happily return. Ana, our housekeeper, was a joy. We ran into her several times throughout our stay, and she was always warm, kind, and welcoming. Eddie, who checked our minibar, spent time talking with me on my birthday and truly embodied the spirit of aloha. Shelley and Kevin, who assisted with valet and transportation, were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. Malinda and Harry made check-in and checkout smooth and welcoming and helped us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The property itself is beautiful, but it was the people who made the experience special. Each of these team members showed genuine kindness and hospitality, and they are the reason we would choose to stay at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay again. My fiancée and I visited Kauai, HI for the first time to celebrate and during the trip we became engaged. While the hotel staff consistently treated us with warmth, kindness, and respect, we occasionally felt less welcome from certain guests than we expected in 2026. We understand that 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay is a luxury property that attracts people from many backgrounds and walks of life. What stood out to us was not anyone’s wealth or status, but the fact that kindness, acceptance, and respect do not automatically come with them. As two hardworking women celebrating a special milestone together, we were surprised by some of the attitudes we encountered. Thankfully, the exceptional staff and the beauty of Kauai ( cannot leave out the immense love from those locals in the town below Princeville) far outweighed those moments. The kindness shown by the hotel’s team is what would bring us back in the future.

From the concierges, to the valets, to the poolside wait staff, to the housekeeping, the hospitality was wonderful! We made the mistake of doing Uber instead of a rental car. Not the smartest idea considering it is really easy to get an Uber from the airport to Princeville, but very hard to get an Uber while at the hotel. The valet manager and staff were very helpful in arranging other transportation for us, and even drove us to and from the hotel to the the Princeville Market so we could try some other restaurants in addition to the ones at the hotel. Perfect access to the beach and fun trails to walk/hike.

The food was excellent , especially so at Welina Terrace. They could use a little work on the service, no major complaints, but a few hiccups. The staff is very friendly and makes every effort for there guest's. The rooms are nice, but are quite small. For me, the beds were too soft. The views are so stunning at this property , that any minor deficiencies are immediately forgotten.
