South Point Hotel, Casino, and Spa

Hotel was really nice. Staff was really friendly. The excitement in the casino was on point and the music was really good. had the buffet breakfast which was reasonably priced and if you signed up for a players card even if you don’t gamble, it takes another three dollars off your tab.

Room is comfortable and spacious.

Visiting a friend from Kentucky and he chose this Casino. I'm more of an off the Strip Hotel guy without the Casino, but I must say my experience at South Point goes unmatched in Vegas. The Hotel staff was very sharp, the hotel very clean and easy to navigate from Hotel to Casino floor. My room was huge with a King 2 reading chairs and a dinner table. The Food was exceptional especially The Del Mar for lunch and found the workers to be refined and pleasant. The pool area workout facility Theater, Bowling alley was top notch and the Western theme South Wing leading to the rodeo grounds was off the charts. JTP

The room attendant was a hit or miss,the casino was really Smoky. There was no were you could go to get away from the smoke other than your room

Wanted decaf coffee in room and front desk took care of it quickly. Very easy check-in and check out. Received text message to check out and could do on phone. Like med that.

Our #1 complaint was that the pool area closed at 6:00 p.m. while we were there and that it didn’t open at all on a day that had rain in the morning but would have been a perfect day to hang out at the pool in the afternoon! Unfortunately this was the final day of our trip and our plan was to hang out at the pool!) They close the WHOLE area so there is no where to be outside! The property could use more places to sit and relax around the outside of the building! The only seating areas are for gambling or the check in area. Aside from the small place to sit at Starbucks (which we did enjoy). The rooms are really nice and the bed was super comfortable it also has a really great shower! So if they changed the pool policies we may consider coming back with family but when the pool would be the main attraction for the kids we probably wouldn’t risk it being closed so much. They need to be able to close the actual pool without closing the whole outside space!

Towels for the room were old and did not smell fresh. The pool chairs were dark brown plastic. Not good in the blazing sun. The cafe restaurant steaks were not good. Porter house was very fatty and the bake potatoes were not the right type of potato for baking, so that was hard and tasteless. The late night steak and egg special, was not special. The steak was the toughest piece of meat I’ve ever tried to eat. Positive was the deli, bowling alley snack bar, steak and shake. All staff were great and super helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean and good condition. Also felt very safe staying at this resort.
