Will definitely book again next time I am there

The room was very nice with a kitchenette which would have made a multi-night stay easier. Be aware that there is no elevator. Also, the wood floors and large hallways make it a fun place for children, but the echo of noise isn't enjoyable for other guests. Thankfully our floor floor was quiet after 21:00.

Great coffee and was available all day. Great and educational tour of the building. This place is wonderful and felt like being at a friends place. Comfortable, felt safe, everyone very kind, polite, appropriately humorous (which is always my kind of thing). I will stay here again when visiting the area. I can not think of anything I did not like.

Great Staff, nice hotel.

I feel that the Local punches above it's weight, the room was comfortable and spacious. The free breakfast was a disappointment. We enjoyed the large windows that room #211 provided us. It was a great view of the world of Leavenworth. The train whistle was charming to hear. The staff was gracious. We are certain to return.

This hotel is very unique. It has a full gym with bounce houses for kids to play in. It has a good and healthy breakfast with protein options. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Booked the room for my parents (late 60s/early 70s), who stayed three nights. From the moment we walked in, the property felt friendly and inviting. My folks actually befriended the front desk worker, who was so kind to them each day. We will definitely be making this a staple of their visits in the future. It is quirky and homey, clean and comfy. Oh, and the price was fantastic!

Everything was great. The staff was excellent

Much bigger room than we expected. Had all the household amenities including washer/dryer, dishwasher, full size refrigerator with freezer along with a stovetop. Very soft bed. Would be a very comfortable one-bedroom apartment. Surprisingly great value for the amount of space. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Downtown Leavenworth neighborhood was also very safe. It was awkward to not have a door between the bedroom and the bathroom. It would have been nice to have had more breakfast options.

It was very clean looked really nice The Room was in the basement with no windows and I didn’t mind to much about no windows but what I didn’t like was the basketball court directly above the room and it must have been a multiple playoff games, every dribble every step, every yell every sound (Mike pass the ball more to Ryan we need more ball movement) I probably should be paid to be there coach but seriously if I had known about the location of this room was in the worst possible location a room could be in, I would have chosen a different hotel! Breakfast was an orange or granola bar. Disappointed. The room was great, but not a door on the sleeping area so the TV interfered. Great concept turning a school into a hotel. Large hallways and room.

Wasn't near airport

What a unique place. An old Catholic school converted into a hotel. Even had a basketball court! The room was spacious and had the original school blackboard on the wall with chalk! 😂 The only thing to keep in mind - no elevator. So request 1st floor if you have heavy luggage. Staff (James) was awesome. Will absolutely stay again if I’m in the area!!

Check-in was quick and easy. Had a great conversation with the manager and got some history of the building. After we got settled in, he even took us on an informative tour of the building, including the 'chapel room' and auditorium. If you get the chance to book it , it is a great 2 bedroom with an entire wall of stained glass windows. The room we had was huge (an entire classroom) with full kitchen (minus an oven), and separate sleeping area. Hot water in shower with decent pressure. Everything was clean (except a couple glasses) and the dishwasher resolved that. Keureg machine made getting coffee quick and easy. There are books available in every hallway, a gymnasium and a pickleball court. Parking lot in back made access easy. Hotel breakfast ($10 credit) is in a juice bar on lower level. Downtown, restaurants and shops easily walkable Leavenworth (first city in Kansas) has lots of history, national military cemetary and federal penitentiary. Local Hotel always has something going on also, in addition to rental availability for special events. Something for everyone. Highly recommended hotel for overnight or multi-day stay.

Open play and down in the gym gave my granddaughter a great wat to get energy out.

This hotel was amazing! It offered fun things for kids like roller skating and bounce houses. They also have a bar and do karaoke for the adults. I love that you can still tell it used to be a school and the rooms are comfortably updated. Also, no two rooms are exactly alike so it's different every time you stay! It is veteran operated so very military friendly as well. I would stay here again and will recommend Local to family and friends!
