Fairfield Inn & Suites Lexington Keeneland Airport

I booked a King Suite one month in advance. Called the hotel the day before to confirm room and reservation. When we arrived they had bumped us to a Double Queen room with no notice and no credit to our room charges.

Location to airport - great. Breakfast was average hotel breakfast. Be aware they allow pets and make sure to check the room out before settling in. The room itself - AWFUL! Room had FLEAS in it yet I was informed that it was not a room used for those traveling with pets. If it was realized earlier in the day, I would have checked out and gone elsewhere but since it was late at night I switched rooms. Was told that my first night would be comped but at check out the same person who helped me the night of check in checked me out and forgot to comp it like she had said. She had to rerun the charges on card and it took forever to be corrected on my statement.

I decided on this hotel due to the airport shuttle so my college kid who I was dropping off did not have to drive me to the airport at 4am. I called and confirmed prior to reserving a room that the shuttle runs from 4am-8:30am. I confirmed and gave my information for the shuttle Friday night, I re confirmed Saturday night. Sunday morning the shuttle did not arrive, the staff said they “texted the driver” but did “not hear back”. I ended up having to use Lyft and paying extra for faster service as it was 4:20am and I needed to be at the airport.

The location is good, the staff is really friendly and the room was nice and clean. Easy to find, close to the airport. Nice breakfast. Good price for the value. The hotel was supposed to have a shuttle, and they did not. Had to take a uber to get to the hotel. We have stayed at this property multiple times, and love it every time. The breakfast is always SO good, and so well-maintained.

We were not greeted by the front office personnel. We tried to check in at 2:45, although the check in is at 3 pm and the young woman at the desk told me that if I checked in early (15 minutes early!!!) it would be an additional $50.00 charge. Ridiculous and rude.

The remote control to the TV was a bit tricky changing the channel and turning volume up or down, but other than that it was a pleasant experience. I’ve stayed in this hotel before and I will stay again.

Great room amenities and breakfast. The pool was a nice bonus. A little more regular emptying of the trash and changing of the towels would have been nice.

Only booked this hotel for the airport shuttle. When I got to the airport I called for the shuttle and was told that the driver called in and they didn’t have a shuttle for me. I had to spend $25 for an Uber to pick me up and drive me to the hotel.
