Exceptional

The pictures advertised were deceiving.. there were bed bugs ... I nearly fell in the shower I didn't feel safe... my friend and I only stayed 1 night.... horrible horrible... I would like my money back

We loved our stay at the Hollywood Hotel.

I had a great time staying at this hotel. I love history and this hotel was absolutely beautiful. The pool was such a lovely experience too, very glamorous. I really appreciated the staff too. They were beyond helpful and the food in the restaurant was delicious. I liked the garden area to at night with the string lights, so pretty.

The room itself was not up to an acceptable standard of cleanliness, which was disappointing from the moment I arrived. However, the biggest issue occurred when the battery in my room door died and I was completely locked out of my room for four hours. It took the maintenance person until 11pm to finally get the door open. During those four hours, I had absolutely no access to my belongings — including my clothes and medication — and I couldn't even take a shower after what had already been a long day. What made the situation even worse was that the hotel couldn't offer me another room in the meantime because they had no rooms available. When I raised my complaint with the manager, the solution offered was to waive the fee for holding my luggage. This was particularly frustrating because I had never been charged for luggage storage at hotels anywhere else I've stayed around the world, so offering to waive a fee that I would not normally expect to pay felt completely inadequate given what had happened. When I asked whether any other compensation could be offered considering I had been locked out of my room for four hours, had no access to my personal belongings or medication, and was unable to shower or properly settle in for the night, I was simply met with “no” and “sorry.”

The place was in a very bad area and we understand that, our biggest issue was how we were treated. The gentlemen who worked August 31st at 11:30pm at the front desk treated us so bad, he treated us like if were one of the homeless people who live in the area. We had 2 reservations and we had to combine them and a nice lady at the front in the morning took care of it and made the transaction smooth. And took care of the the additional day parking by taking it out of our deposit and she indicated that we were all set and we were going in and out had no issues (10 times) and then at 11:30pm at night.. we tried to enter gate and this guy did not let us in even after we showed him our parking pass on camera and indicated we took care of parking and he refused to open the gate and told us to pull up front and take care of the parking again. He was rude and treated us like we were one of the homeless people in the area. We explained to him it was taken care of and he reversed the thing the lady did and made our experience a very bad one. We had kids where very tired and had long day and to be treated this bad after spending 3 nights there is horrible customer service.

The room was nice, service was great. We will be staying there again on our next trip there. Only negative thing I could possibly say, which didn’t make our experience bad (because we will stay again) but our view wasn’t the best (construction was our view) and the pool closing down at 8pm. Other than that the experience was good.

The hotel was exactly what we needed while our family member was in the hospital. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. Being able to walk back and forth to the hospital was incredibly convenient. The employees were absolutely lovely, kind, and accommodating, especially as our needs changed throughout our stay due to the circumstances. Their understanding and flexibility meant so much to us during a difficult time. There’s also a lovely coffee shop right next door, which I highly recommend! We’re very grateful for the wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
