There was no one there to even get a blanket. The room stunk and it was so fithy. No toilet paper or paper towels.

It stunk, the fridge was dirty. The rooms had a bad smell. I had someone who walk around in period panties it was awful

Never stayed at a hostel before. The Normandie hostel is new, clean and the beds are great with so much privacy. Plus they’re virtual check in is a breeze with fast responses.

Great stay. Clean. Peaceful. Safe.

First, I wasn’t checked in until 8 PM. Then when I did check in the room that was assigned to me had somebody in. This was my first hostel stay so I wasn’t certain what to expect. But being a female, why would they feel comfortable with putting me in the room with three other. I didn’t get reassigned until almost 12:00 AM just to end up get bitten up by bed bugs. This was the most horrendous experience? Definitely not recommend

Its been a good stay. Ppl stay to themselves and things have been pretty quiet. My room has been comfortable.

However, the room I was in was clearly not maintained well as well as not being properly cleaned and inspected. Starting from the lockers which are located behind sliding mirrored doors which are falling apart and, quite frankly, I wouldnt be surprised if they fall off the hinges one day (hopefully not on a guest). The bed bunk i was allocated to was not properly cleaned as there was someone's used water bottle, dirty make up pad, and some seeds right between the wall and the matress. Also, on top part of the bunk (you could call it a ceiling) there were massive stains on them as if there was some kind of liquid spilled on the bunk bed above. All in all this would be an amazing hostel if they made an effort to fix it and maintain it.

The place is great and feels safe. I am a female solo traveling and my time of arrival was close to midnight so I'm glad there is plenty of lighting. I also contacted the property management for entry and was immediately replied to. The only downside is the smell of weed and sweat. Everything else is great.

One of the better hostels in LA. Prompt response from host. Easy check-in as long as you upload ID. Mostly clean expect the fl of female dorm bathroom. Only one bathroom for female dorm. Nice, well-stocked kitchen w/several pots, utensils etc. Only an uncomfortable bench available for indoor seating. Can't sit on the patio chairs in the back b/c of discarded cigarettes all over the ground & guests throw things from patio. Mostly long-term residents there. Wifi not the best.

The hostel clearly only puts positive reviews up. The room was adequate for my stay and quiet but the community kitchen was atrocious and the kitchen sink remained blocked and putrid my entire 4 night stay. I contacted only by text message to convey uncleanness and they said their team would take care of it. NO! They failed to give me info on wifi connection and an app had control of the laundry.??? Hot water for a shower was only just warm enough not to add any cold into the mix. No real person to actually have a conversation with was sighted.I only saw the bad reviews after I arrived unfortunately. It was quiet and reasonably convenient location for my needs but many homeless on the streets and I didn't feel safe to leave anything of value in my room because they wouldn't explain the same code for the front door and my room. How do they know who's coming in?

Everything was good except that the bathroom situation wasn’t the best experience. One bathroom for to many occupants are not the best. Of course you get what you paid for. Everything else was good.
