Red Roof Inn Madison Heights, VA

This motel needs to be taken off your booking site. When we pulled up there were 2 cars in an overgrown parking lot both of which were visibly disabled and abandoned vehicles. Windows open with curtains flying outside. This motel looked abandoned and condemned. We were afraid to get out of the car. We left and found other accommodations. I have never left a motel that I had already paid for. Highly disappointed that this motel was on your site. It felt like a scam.

The room itself was ok, but the hallway carpet looked disgusting. And we were a non-smoking room with non-smoking rooms all around us, but we were sickened from the smell of pot smoke coming from a nearby room. It was horrible in the hallway, and it was coming into our room through the vents in the bathroom and under the door. I know that this circumstance is due to the guests on the property, but management did nothing. You could smell it all the way in the lobby, so they were well aware.

Kind of dumpy compared to other chains. No elevator. No workout room. No breakfast.

The staff was friendly at check in. The room was fair but extremely hot as the AC was not turned on beforehand, several dead roaches on floor, lamp was missing it’s lampshade, no chair with desk, hallway in bldg 2 reeked of marijuana (seems to be common occurrence these days), lavatory leaked underneath vanity (I could hear it ) and a puddle formed on floor for the entire stay.

This property was chosen due to its proximity to my event. The facility waa very old and antiquated. It is in need of a major overhaul. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

It’s a dog friendly hotel. A dog barked for an hour straight at 1:00am. The hotel staff told me there wasn’t anything they could do about it since it is a dog friendly hotel. I reminded her of the policy if a dog is making a lot of noise. Anyways, she didn’t do anything about it.

Very close to a lot of amenities. Very well lit parking lot easy check-in.

Our stay in red roof in was great, good service.

No towels, no fire alarm, broken door locks, manual ‘sliding’ doors, dirty AC filters, oh my… Amid all that, when asking for reallocation assistance, they reported refused any part and decided to keep it all, which I’ll ensure includes this review. They said fire alarm was missing because batteries likely dead, but the -wires- from ceiling had cob webs… They offered us ‘slightly stained contractor towels’ as they ‘ran out’.. The electronic door key didn’t work and had to change rooms for another door with slightly better functionality. Whatever the rating says, I would not go again. The hostel serves a specific ‘clientele’ who care not for these problems.

Very poor maintenanced this motel. Unfinished renovations. I can smell old molds. Stairs carpet looks like over 100 years. In the rest room, the floor was wet, faucet handle was fell off and the towel hanger was gone.Never recommend this motel!

The hotel is definitely outdated. The room was dirty had spider webs in two of the corners of the room. It’s like the room is not cleaned properly after each guest stay.

I paid in advance and was told when I arrived that they were about to sell it to someone else on a first come first serve basis. I arrived at 6:30pm. Why would they sell my room? I asked, “We came from Seattle at 4:30am and paid in advance to reserve the room. What if our flight was delayed and we didn’t arrive until 11pm?” She said they would have sold it and refunded our money. BUT ALL OTHER HOTELS WERE BOOKED BECAUSE OF MOVE IN WEEK AT LIBERTY. We literally would have been sleeping in our car. This was terrible management by a badly maintained hotel. I would have given a 2, but the fact they almost gave it away makes it a 1.
