Cambria Hotel Madison East

Negative is that we specifically rented this room because we had a flight out early the next morning and needed the airport shuttle that is advertised. When I checked in, the rep at the counter wasn't friendly at all and almost greeted us with a sigh like "what do you want". I told her we were checking in and she quickly did what she needed to then handed the room key to us. I asked her how we get the shuttle for 6am and do we need to preschedule & she said "they do not come until later but not sure when". I asked what time is later so she asked another girl next to her and that girl responded "I'm not sure". So both of them "weren't sure" when the shuttle got there and didn't even look into it. HOW do you not know what time a shuttle arrives or at least know who to ask. They both were very unfriendly and absolutely not helpful!

Floors are flithy - crumbs, glitter, and dust bunnies everywhere. Bathroom sink is very slow draining. Cigarette smoke from back patio wafts directly into guest rooms above. Firm checkout time, presumably so they don't pay have to housekeeping a minute more.

I was frustrated because the property advertised as having a free airport shuttle, which is why I booked it. Turns out the shuttle only operates from 8-5, M-F. Plenty of money in Uber later, I certainly would have booked at any of the properties nearby that offered true airport shuttle service.

The hot tub is not working currently. Also my towels smelled like mildew and funk like they were washed and not dried fully before being put

We have stayed at this hotel in the past, the last time probably in 2020. We will not stay again. It has significantly gone down hill in that time. The rooms were not very clean, the counters had stickiness from previous stays and there were crumbs all over the floor and beds. Walking into the lobby smelled very musty and throw the halls smelled like marajuana on multiple occasions. The hot tub was broken and apparently early has been for over a month. The pool area was a mess - dirty towels everywhere and no clean towels. Took 25 minutes to have clean towels delivered. Staff seemed entirely uninterested in their jobs at the front desk during check in and out check out. So disappointing for a hotel that used to be very clean and dependable.

The room was very nice. It was clean, spacious, and quiet. I wonder if this property has recently changed hands. We paid more to stay at this property because it was indicated there was a bar and restaurant on site. They did not yet have a liquor license and the restaurant was basically a snack bar in the lobby. After a long day of travel, this was very disappointing. Just be truthful about amenities.

Great place!

Having a UW student for undergrad and graduate school, we have stayed at plenty of lodgings in the past 8 years in the Madison area. This hotel was by far the best we have been at. We loved the room layout and its ameninties. The place was clean, the staff was welcoming and helpful and the complimentary coffee in the am was a welcome start to each day there.

For the price you cannot beat this property.

Comfortable beds, friendly staff, quiet location. Very clean and quiet!

I didn’t pay attention to the fact that breakfast was not included in the rate, but they have a good full kitchen on site.

The breakfast menu was very good. The shades in our room did not work so we could not close them all the way.

Elegant hotel, good price for the cleanliness and amenities

There was a pee pad in the pullout coach from the last people that was not cleaned up. The pool is very tiny, basically the size of a hot tub. The some staff were kind, some seemed annoyed to be there. We would pick another hotel in the future.

lobby had it on. Staff was not concerned about our issue. Breakfast is all microwave food. Otherwise, stay was good.
