Our requested room that was done at time of online reservation was changed due to room needing maintenance we were told. The room we were sent to was needing some attention. Shattered pain glass on interior window and wallpaper peeling down on bathroom wall and ceiling paint coming down on bathroom. AC worked intermittently during the 4 night stay during the hot weather week in Manchester. Front office people excellent and cleaning staff very helpful. We hope all the overall badly needed repairs in the hotel to bring back luster to this old property will happen for us return.

Good place to stay, but not great.

They moved us the second night as they could not repair the toilet. Hotel waived the daily resort fee of ($40). Should seek a greater refund for the inconvenience cause the entire first night,

The grounds are very pretty. But the rooms definitely need an updating. Also, our shower didn’t drain when we initially checked in, which was pretty gross and the wallpaper is peeling off the walls in our room.

The room was nice and very clean. The bar and waitstaff were friendly and helpful. The biggest disappointment was the outdoor patio/fire pit area because management said that there was a problem with the gas line (but it's been out for at least a week or two), so it was dark and cold on the patio. They did nothing to help rectify the problem when in fact there were at least 30 people trying to enjoy the outdoors. Many requests were made for management to assist, but nothing. It took the friendly bar staff to come up with a solution. She grabbed lanterns from the inside tables to brighten up the darkness - this made people want to stay longer and enjoy drinks with friends. She made the difference that night! Her name started with a "P" and deserves recognition for making a decision that night.

    nice place

The location is exquisite. Everywhere you look has something special to offer. The mountain view, unique marble sidewalks, the church, courthouse. All beautiful architecture including the Equinox A bit dark in the south wing. The hallways and stairwells need painting.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff, especially the bartenders were great, It's in desperate need of a refresh. Peeling paint, door stop not there just a screw where it should be. We had one sheer on one window and it was torn. It's designed for 2 sheers for each window. The other window had no sheers. It looked really "ghetto". The carpet, paint look tired. The elevator looks like a freight evelator. When I asked about where the EV charger was (because they say they have one) I was directed to the tennis court area where there are outlets so if you brought your cable you can charge your car, if not, go to Orvis. They have what I would consider a proper EV charger.

The resort looks tired. It needs a few repairs. The staff was friendly. We did not eat at the resort, but the next tiem we stay I would like to stay longer. I am not convinced that we received the benefits of the resort that we paid for on our resort fee. I attended a wonderful yoga class with Jasmine. I highly recommend the yoga, and the pool looked inviting, and I wish I had swum laps there. We will try it again, but I think the resort is overpriced given the quality of the amenities and its condition.

bellman = excellent guy. Best person that we met. Food was good, some employees did not like their job

We had the best time at the Equinox. The staff was exceptional, from the bellman, the front desk staff to the spa personnel. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

We loved the historical architecture and ambiance. The pool and hot tub were perfect. We only wish that the hot tub stayed open later (it was closed at 8:30 pm). The restaurant was too dark and dull looking ( could have used better lighting and more color). The food was delicious!

This was such a disappointment! My wife and I went for our 30th Anniversary as we stayed there about 30 years ago and loved it!! My wife wanted to go again. I was skeptical as I saw the reviews were not the greatest and the price was a lot cheaper than it once was. I told my wife that we may not want to go but she insisted. The reviews were being nice! The place is in such bad shape and nothing like it once was! The staff at the front desk were very rude and not helpful at all! They seemed like they didn’t want to be there as much as we did. The staff did tell us that new investors bought the place and will hopefully fix up the place! Next time we will stay at the Manchester Inn.

The food was excellent in the bar for both dinner and lunch. Staff was great and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We had some problems with the AC blowing cold air and the phone. We were told that our 40.00 per night amenity fee would be waived.

My room was decent but the ants were outrageous. There were ants everywhere and I was killing them every couple minutes. My card was charged like 4 times, different prices each time. The guy at the desk when I was checking out was helpful but the staff the first day was rude and so was the breakfast staff to the point I bought the breakfast package BUT STILL HAD TO PAY THE BREAKFAST BILL. And they added automatic gratuity. Not that I have a problem with tipping but to automatically add it because you were mad I took a little time to pay when I was just trying to figure the package out that I bought. They gave us a bottle of wine for my boyfriends birthday tho which was such a plus.

The hotel is excellent the complex exterior needs some attention as you might expect do to it’s age.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

This historic hotel had always been one of our favorite in past years. It needs repairs and painting inside and out.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Location and charm. Heat/cooling did not work in our room.

Stayed as a bridesmaid and wedding guest in the hotel recently. The rooms were dated and we found mold on the shower ceiling tiles. The main building is kept in better condition but rooms could definitely use some TLC. Staff was super friendly though!
