Holiday Inn Manitowoc by IHG

It was a nice quiet hotel. Very spacious rooms, and comfortable beds. The bathroom needs a little updating, but all things considered, overall good for the price point. Also, it was interesting that there was quite the Christian theme for the hotel, but subtle.

Good stay overall, good breakfast but would have liked a choice of decaf coffee for the breakfast!

The next morning when it came time to check out, the one person at the front desk had walked over to the office door and was talking to someone with her back to the front desk so she couldn't see when I walked up. After about 5 minutes I thought she might be unaware I was there so I said "Hello" so she would hear me and she gave me a dirty look and kept talking until I walked away and did another errand. Her name tag said Miranda and when I came back she still wasn't friendly, seemed angry about something.

Staff has always helped if there is a problem. We have not tried the breakfast, but I have seen the food. Looks like a good spread. We will try it next time, as we got free breakfast cards!! Check out is at 12pm, but you can always ask for an hour extra if you need it. No charge. Our family comes here to mostly use the pool. Open Mon-Thurs til 11pm Friday thru Sun 12 am. Its warmer than other hotel pools. The spa hot tub is small, but relaxing. We park in the handicapped area, due to me having a knee injury. So the parking is not an issue. We have not got any food from the restaurant yet. We did get drinks in there. Bartender Mike, is super nice. Sometimes he is a one man show, so be kind to him, works hard!! We only stay in the King Suite. Very spacious!! Has a conjoining door if you need extra room for family and friends. Its the most expensive, but worth it!

Outdated and worn out. Seems like it used to be an upscale hotel and it is still pretending to be.

The staff was excellent.

The property needs maintenance and updates at minimum - a total remodel would be much better. I won’t stay there again

This hotel is pretty run down. The breakfast is a joke. I wish I would have looked at it before I decided. I honestly would not have even eaten it if it was free. The property is kinda run down. The awning by the front door looks to have been hit numerous times with zero effort fix it. Our bathroom fan did not work and your a.c. for our room sounded like a horse trotting. One a good note the ice machine on the second for was amazing.

From the start I should have turned around and left. The lobby had old beat up furniture. The floor when you first walked in was dirty someone could have cleaned/mopped it. The hallways were dark. My son went to the gym located in the basement which was dark. The walls in the room had scuff marks/a month was in our room/ smelled of smoke/shower was not the cleanest and the funniest part was you had to turn on the lamp to turn on the TV. All the electronics were plugged in one wall what a fire hazard. Zero stars

7,99 breakfast buffet was great.

My air conditioner was not working properly.

Check in was slow for 10 pm. No complimentary breakfast. Our rooms bathroom ceiling was covered in something pink and long hairs. The shower had some kind of substance all over the wall of it.

The breakfast was disappointing. Expected a little better quality. Many included breakfasts are much better.

The staff was fine. The rooms were good. The hotel would have been perfectly fine if the AC worked. It was hot when we got in the room. The thermostat said 78. We turned it to 72 and left. When we got back it was 79. The front desk said he would come reset it. In the meantime we turned it off completely and then back on. It started work after a few minutes. Yahoo. It got down to 75 and we were able to fall asleep. We woke up about 3 am and it was 80 in the room. Turned it off back on. It works. Cools down. Wake up in the morning and it 79. It’s totally unacceptable that the AC doesn’t work. We had two different rooms between the 5 of us and both rooms were the same. Don’t stay here if it’s hot out!

Time has stood still and it’s still 1984 at the Holiday Inn Manitowoc. While this may be nostalgic, it’s not pretty when it comes to basic hotel expectations in the year 2026. This Holiday Inn needs a serious rehab to bring it to hotel standards that are expected by the traveler in 2026

Nice hotel, the rear entry doors and entrance ways could use some work. First time i entered through one i thought i was going into a run down motel.

I love the location and the view. Walk distance from the lake.

No USB ports in the rooms for charging. Paint peeling off the doors in the bathroom.
