Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marquette by IHG

The hotel itself is beautiful, with a wonderful lake view, great location, and all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, including a gym and Jacuzzi. Unfortunately, the Jacuzzi was unusable because there were literally hundreds, if not thousands, of mosquitoes around and in it. Overall cleanliness was disappointing. The lobby floors were dirty, and our room showed signs of neglected housekeeping—hair on the bathroom floor, dirty corners, and crumbs around the coffee and tea area. The biggest issue was the air conditioning, which repeatedly woke us during the night with loud rattling noises. We reported it several times, but the problem was not properly resolved. We eventually had to turn it off and leave the window slightly open to get through the second night. To their credit, the hotel did agree to provide a 15% discount from the original price because of these issues. We are still waiting to see if the refund is actually processed. Overall, this is a beautiful property with tremendous potential, but it is lacking attention to cleanliness and maintenance. For these reasons, I give it 3 stars. Unfortunately, it was not worth the money we paid for our stay.

No in-room coffee supposedly for "sustainability"; coffee only available from machines that pour one size; no options for dark or light roast.

Clean room. Clean property. Breakfast had plenty of options. Hot tub and pool area was nice.

The person at check-in was amazing, Seho was the person that made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to take care of all our needs. We were very impressed by his service as well as other staff we came into contact with. The hotel has a great location, walkable to downtown and a great view of the bay.

Great hotel. Clean. Decent breakfast

Would use and stay here again. The pancake machine was down the first morning we grabbed breakfast which I had an 8 year old upset about & the jets of the hot tub were being fixed while we visited. But not anything that would prevent me from coming again. Great location and very friendly staff.

While I found nothing really special about the place, I was very disappointed that we stayed two nights and the pool was very small and the hot tub was not working properly. They could also invest in new towels. We also told them both nights that the back door wasn't locked. They didn't do anything about it.
