McPherson Inn

they are racist. one lady was really kind the rest were very rude and dismissive. they had attitude towards me and my boyfriend.. we are 19 traveling alone. i noticed they would vacuum by our door at night instead of during the day, to me that’s very strange but i could be pushing it. we stayed 3 nights, NO breakfast and part of the reason we went there instead of across the street (with open pool) was bc the “FREE” breakfast. i just didn’t feel comfortable staying there as a person of color. also our bed set was dirty.. i’m not sure if it was old blood or what but we ended up buying a new blanket set but the hotel was cheap and the town is beautiful.

Clean room

1. Toilet was an oblong toilet put they had a ROUND toilet seat on it. Seat did not cover the whole toilet. 2. Vent above toilet was not securely mounted. The front side was hanging down @ 1/2" to 1" compared to back. 3. Shower curtain would not stay against the wall. The curtain rod was not straight letting curtain slide away form walls. 4. I had to move bed side table on the right side of bed so I could plug in my CPAP machine. Found the outlet cover was broken 5. Instead of removing the old telephones from the rooms they placed them in the drawer in the side table. 6. Swimming pool was closed and posted OUT OF ORDER. From my understanding and looking at other reviews its been out of order for several months. If they are going to leave it out of service it needs to be taken off of the amenities. (Wheelchair-accessible pool) 7. Also noticed the floor was slopping a little on the right side of the bed. I do wish that the rooms were a little more updated. Rooms did not have lamps to plug in cell phones or other electronics.

It looked like this property was in some sort of transitional stage.

room was fine price was okay

Needed a spot to stay after another hotel gave my room away. I got a 2 bed room and found the room to be clean, bed was comfy, and shower was hot with water pressure. The building was a little on the older side but I did not mind. If I ever need a hotel in central Kansas again I would stay here.

It was worth the price we paid. The whole hotel just needs a lot of love. It was very clean.

Was a good value for the price, but an older property. Pool was not open.

Excellent for the money. Clean. Protein in the morning. Slept well. That’s all we needed.

Price and proximity to everything was great

Dryer wasn't working. Bed skirt was horrible stained. Back door was not locked properly and was easy access for everyone no key needed Our room was 3 doors down kinda uneasy feeling being from out of town. Pool was not working so a heads up would be nice.

Some staff was very friendly

The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean. The furniture is a bit worn but everything worked as needed. The bed and pillows were awesome! I could hear talking from the lobby in the room but it got silent around 10pm. Pretty basic continental breakfast but glad it was included. The juice dispenser is out of order. The shower and restroom were also clean and plenty of hot water for a warm shower. I'll definitely consider staying here again if the price is as good as this time.

This was not somewhere I would stay again. The staff is friendly enough but the manager/owner seemed to be completely uninvolved. The towels, sheets, and property itself are old and worn out.

Room was not cleaned when we got to it. Breakfast was not fresh and continuous issues with key cards not working.

The staff did mop the lobby frequently. The pool and hot tub were out of order. We reserved a king size bed, 1st night they were sold out so we got a double queen. The room was very dusty, the bathroom is very outdated and looks old. The beds creaked, back was so sore the next morning, the door literally did not close so we had it dead bolted the whole time. 2nd night we got switched the king room, the security latch on the door was missing, luckily the door closed all the way and was able to still lock. The bathroom door literally was broke on the top and had a piece flopping around. The tub and shower curtain were filthy and the drain was broken. The bathroom floor boards had a blood like stain. One of the lights was broken. Unfortunately all other hotels in the area were sold out, so we had to deal with it all. Wouldn’t stay again, but do appreciate the staff. Very outdated for sure.

We arrived in the late of the night the lady at the front desk didn’t seem very welcoming. I know it’s late but if you are working the front desk. You should seem welcoming smile or friendly hello would be nice. She had an irritated look on her face while she took my information this was not my first stay here and it was the same last time as well.

Room service needs to clean rooms a bit more often but otherwise great service

Although i had no major issues and my room and the property were clean, faucets handle for the sink was broken and fell off... i could easily put it back on and it functioned but still.... the baseboard in my room was detached in several places and there was some broken tiles in the shower area. The pool and hot tub were conveniently out of order. The breakfast selection was simple muffins, cereal, oatmeal selections. Nothing fancy or great but at least there were some options. The staff was not rude but not very professional either.
