Signature Inn Medford Downtown

Arrival and check-in were quick and easy, once we located the property. Our GPS was having a bit of a day. Room was clean and well maintained. No closet, just a couple of hooks on the wall, which is a bit weird, but we dealt with it. Nice pressure in the shower. The refrigerator worked fine, but didn't have a freezer, which means we couldn't refreeze our ice packs for the 2nd day. Beds were very comfortable. Mostly quiet, except for the parade of very loud cars cruising all around - the hotel sits between 2 one-way streets and I think the drivers were driving around the block. Normally wouldn't have bothered me too much because it was early evening, but I came down super sick the 1st night we were there and spent the entire day Saturday in bed trying to sleep. Missed our daughter's wedding :-( The guy who I think was the manager complained to me a bit because we apparently parked in "his favorite place", which to be honest, was marked as "members only", but it's the 1st space next to the stairs, so it seems like they could have picked a spot more convenient for paying customers. No - I'm not a Karen - but I was unfortunately cranky because of circumstances. The maid opened the door around 10 am, saw me in my cranky, sleepy condition, apologized and backed out. A bit after 11, there was a knock on the door. Some random guy immediately told me "Check out is 11 am". Okay... fine. But I booked for 2 nights. Not checking out today. Could have been a better experience.

Location

I enjoy to travel and have stayed in many cities across OR, CA, NV, and ID. This is the worst experience I’ve had yet. The pictures don’t come close to what this place is in person. Extremely sketchy location, sketchy people standing all around, and a shirtless dude power washing that looks like he’s off the streets?? I went to the front desk to ask for a refund and notified them that I wouldn’t be staying there that night. I was told NO refund, and that my information was false. Didn’t care about trying to please the customer, extremely shady. Couldn’t bring myself to even go to the room. Went and stayed somewhere else. Didn’t care that I was wasting $70. It was better than staying there.

The hotel neighborhood looked a bit desolate upon arrival, the outside a bit run down, and reception had an odd smell. However, inside, the hotel rooms are clean and cheerful and modernized, and I found the firm bed comfortable. You will hear periodic traffic noise and sirens so it's not ideal for light sleepers.

Stayed for one night to break up a long drive, all was clean and efficient and got a good rest.

Not much to look at on the outside, but the room was very nice inside. Comfy bed and even a rain shower head. I would definitely stay there again.

The location was great and near many restaurants.

The toilet paper holder was too low, there's a coffee maker but no coffee pot.

The gentleman that checked us in was very friendly. Based on the room placement, I questioned if there would be a lot of noise but he assured me that there wouldn’t be. Unfortunately, the was a lot of street noise throughout the night through to the next morning. Also, the website says that the room has blackout curtains and it does not. Needless to say, we didn’t get a great night’s sleep.

It was a terrible choice as an overnight stop in the midst of several days of driving. We found it very hard to sleep there. The louvered coverings on the windows let in quite a bit of light from the outside, so the room was not dark. But the worst thing was that it was extremely noisy. In a downstairs room, we could hear every movement of the people above us which was going on until two in the morning. At which point we had lain awake for so long that we decided to just get up and start driving in the middle of the night.

I would have liked the location. I went to check in and told him I had 2 dogs. He said they only allow 1 pet per room. When I booked the room there was no mention of this... it said "pet friendly". The man was not helpful in recommending another hotel or motel. It was after 8pm so we were tired after driving all day (13 hours) then we were inconvenienced to find another place at that hour. BTW: My dogs are very good in hotels. If you're going to stay in Medford, we stayed at Spark Hilton. Our dogs were welcome.

The beds were great. The room was clean. It was renovated. But not that recent. I missed having facial tissue.

Staff was friendly enough, key card didn’t work so worker had to come into room to fix..some towels weren’t clean (had hair and stain) and toilet didn’t work to flush..it was late and we were tired so didn’t want to fuss with having him come back to the room..seems to be newly renovated but that doesn’t matter if stuff doesn’t work..disappointing after a long day of driving..not in a good location as well..wouldn’t be back

Rooms were newly and uniquely renovated. Spacious room with king bed. Would have liked more ways to hang clothing. Microwave was on lowest shelf in TV cabinet and was awkward to use. It also didn’t function as expected. (Microwave kept running even after pushing the button to open door. ). Would stay here again if in the area.
