The Madison Hotel is easily one of the finest and most enjoyable hotel experiences I have ever had—and I have stayed in many hotels. From the moment I arrived, the staff demonstrated a level of genuine warmth, professionalism and hospitality that is increasingly difficult to find. The property itself is breathtaking. Its beautiful Georgian-style architecture, traditional interiors and extraordinary glass Conservatory give the Madison the gracious character of another era while remaining wonderfully comfortable and inviting. Rod’s Steak & Seafood Grille is equally special: gorgeous wood paneling, leather seating and the warmth of a classic American steakhouse, complemented by terrific service, excellent food and surprisingly reasonable prices. Even the complimentary breakfast is exceptional—they mean a full, beautifully prepared breakfast with an actual assortment of quality food. Room service was prompt, consistently delicious and another example of something the Madison simply does better: whatever you order seems to arrive as the premium version of it. For travelers visiting the area or heading into New York, Convent Station and the Morris & Essex Line are directly across the parking lot. I also saw the care given to the hotel’s wedding events, and the setting is magnificent. Beautiful property, wonderful food and truly outstanding people. The Madison understands hospitality. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

For a hotel marketed as “luxury”, it left a little to be desired (I didn’t love the bed or pillows and both seemed a bit worn), but still so much better than the typical chain hotels. The Madison has so much charm, history, and character as well as some great amenities such as a fitness center and a fantastic outdoor space and very good food on site. Super convenient to the Convent Train Station that provided an easy trip into nyc for some late night walking, dinner, and drinks without needing to worry about driving.

The two restaurants were very good, food well cooked, tasty, and priced well, pleasant staff, live music on Friday and Saturday with one restaurant more formal, and the other more casual Breakfast in the lobby was good with the quality, taste and selection of food, but not enough room to easily sit and eat, they need a better dedicated space than using the lobby. A beautiful courtyard in the middle of the hotel. Would definitely stay again if ever in that area, priced well, very nice overall.

Love the Madison Hotel for a quick stay. They have breakfast included too-which is a really nice addition to the stay (and it is always has the best fruit!).

Staff ok… there was no soap in our room’s bathroom and when asked they said on back order… poor management, the bartender seemed new and unorganized

Old style hotel which I prefer compared to chains. Maybe a couple of minor issues which together ad little effect on our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Great experience

Breakfast was included and really nice. Staff was nice. Room was clean and roomy. No hand soap in the room though.

Room service never answered the phone. Hotel was boutique - chic. Older but super clean. Rooms updated. Most uncomfortable pillows I’ve ever had and the hardest bed ever. Breakfast wasn’t bad. Good selection! I would not go back if they have the same pillows and beds.
