Holiday Inn Express & Suites Muskegon - Grand Haven by IHG

Location was great, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a free for all, kids running wild and nobody said anything. Many items missing including cinnamon rolls two days, just out. I know it's Mother Nature but so many geese = so much goose poop rolled through on suitcases. Kind of gross.

I would like to share feedback regarding my recent stay, as unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because it is advertised as a non-smoking property. During our stay, someone on our floor was smoking, and the smell was noticeable in the hallway. When Sylvie asked if we could smell it, we confirmed that we could. This was very disappointing. Our room was also below expectations. The carpet had noticeable stains, the room felt very basic, and there were no amenities such as bottled water or a shower cap. We had hoped for an upgraded room, but that did not happen.The towels in our room were ripped and stained. We requested replacements and waited over two hours, but no one came. I eventually went to the front desk and spoke with Sylvie, who was courteous and genuinely tried to help. However, when someone finally arrived, they brought only a face towel instead of the bath towels we had requested. During our stay, an emergency alarm also sounded, but there was no communication afterward to explain what had happened or reassure guests. In addition, whenever we asked for assistance, we were often told that someone was new, didn’t know, or that no one was available. Before we checked out, Sylvie apologized and said she would arrange some form of compensation in loyalty points, but we have not received anything. We later learned this may not be possible because we booked through Expedia. Not happy at all with our stay.

Honestly we asked for our room to be cleaned twice and no one accommodated us. We paid almost 800$ for the tv to not even work in our room

The location was nice and relaxed. Rooms are large and modern. The morning breakfast was not so good. The pan kake maker was not working for 2 days that I was there and the breakfast trays were mostly empty. I had to aked to refill a couple of times.

Convenient location. All the goose poop in parking lot and along Hotel sidewalks.

Comfy beds and decent location

Good location. Culver’s next door wasa plus!! Room was clean but showed signs of wear. Blinds esp difficult to adjust. The little fridge sounded like it was going to explode!! Very noisy above our heads!!We were on first floor. Don’t appreciate having a $50 deposit charged at time of check in for “damages”. And that’s BEFORE we even came in the room!! Says it will be refunded but I’m not sure how long that will take!!

Building is new. Room was not ready till a hour after check in. Room need to be vacuumed and children's footprints on the bed. Breakfast was good.

pool closed with no notice. rooms not ready. staff too busy having conversations to help

Staff Room did not feel as clean as other Holiday Inn Express. For a newer hotel, I was expecting fresh smell and bright white towels. The blind was broken. Water damage in the bath. Musky smell

Holiday Inn Muskegan was just fine. It is not luxury but we didn't pay luxury prices. It feels a tad run down but was not bad. The breakfast was very good.

It a nice place unfortunately the day before glass was broke in the pool. The kids were very disappointed

Check in took more than 2 hours just to get assigned a room and to get keys.

The room and bathroom were overall quite clean and comfortable. My biggest disappointment was the Saturday morning breakfast buffet. Several of my family members stayed here and almost all of the hot selections were gone, and they were extremely slow to refill them. They did bring more eggs out, but a very small amount, and they were gone after a couple people took some. The breakfast buffet was open from 7-10, and this was between 8:00-8:45 so it was prime time, not near the end of the breakfast being available. We were not the only ones that didn't get enough to eat. That was very disappointing for all of us.
