Sands Ocean Club Resort

This was the 2nd year my family and I stayed here. Each time, we had a fantastic time.

The rooms are not what is shown on the site. They are in bad shape, lights, outlets don’t work, beds squeak loudly even when you move a little bit and the room was dirty. The entire hotel is in need of updating. We called and asked for towels and toilet paper twice and never received any until we found a cleaning person in the hallway and got them ourselves.

The price point and amenities are great. Checking in takes a while but if you have patience and just talk to the staff as you would want to be talked too the experience is great. It's a good atmosphere seemed everyone there had a great time.

We've be going to Sands Ocean Club for years. We love the fact that it's right on the beach and in a calmer part of Myrtle Beach. The kids love it for the lazy river and pools.

When we got to thr room it was clear it was not clean and the bed was made with dirty sheets. There was hair on the dresser, lots of hair on one of the night stands then hair and 3 different drink rings on the other. Because of that I checked the beds and their was hair on the pillow and between the sheets. They clearly just made the bed with the same dity sheets. They floor was STICKY throughout anf they just swept the sand and dirt into the corner by the living room TV. As for the balcony I dont think its ever been cleaned my flip flop literally came off sticking to the floor and the little table had stains all over it. I have been coming here my whole life, we have a time share here. However, we needed a 2 bedroom. This was the worst experience ever for sure. We had to call them back in to clean the room. We ended up going out and buying towels and sheets. We also had to go by soap and rags to wash the dishes. It won't let me post pictures but thr utensils had grease all over them and rhe drinking glasses were cloudy with black spots. It was crazy.

I stayed and at property several times. I was over all happy. Wish there had been cups to get a drink of water and brush my teeth. Also wish there had been some conditioner togo along with the shampoo. Check in was very fast and efficient. How ever over all this was my first year ever felling like several staff members was in a TSA mind set. Friendly with a smile would have been nice.

Liked that we didn’t have to leave the property searching for meal places. Property was clean and included everything we needed in the room.

We had a problem with our shower and the staff was very quick to fix the problem! They went above and beyond to make sure the problem was fixed and cleaned up! This is our go-to spot for Myrtle beach! Would highly recommend to anyone!

Everything was wonderful and fabulous. The only thing that we had a problem with was, we did see a couple of roaches when we left, but I did let the front desk know everything was phenomenal. Our grandchildren enjoyed it we will be back.

Location was good resort kept clean environment good music food drinks all good view great I extended my stay for another week they moved me into a room very sandy no wifi for the tv that was a down grade i paid for a double room 2 beds got i bed smaller room i had to move my stuff porter never showed i was already situated in the room they gave me i complained then front desk decidef to move me again into the room i paid for i declined it was too aggravating to move again the offered to send house keeping to clean i declined should of been done before. The couch was sheddin fabric awfully a lot front desk said it was privately-owned they couldn't move it Truly disappointed T he first room i had before I moved was lovely

Location Rust everywhere in my room, even on ceiling.

I liked the location. It was close to a lot of things to do in the area amd directly on the beach. In the booking.com app i requested to stay on a higher floor amd if they had an upgrade to 2 quuen beds or a king bed. Most of The staff was not very helpful or friendly. When we checked in we were too early for our room so we had to go do stuff before our room was available. When we got back to check in, the lady helping us just told me to sign a waiver, I asked what I was signing and she told me I have to read it. She was not helpful. When we got to our room, one of the towels have a long hair hanging out of it, so I had to find housekeeping to get new towels right away. The room had a musty and stinky, stale odor. We did not receive room service unless we asked. We had to ask twice for room service for a 4 night stay. The first time the provided room service they did not replenish the wash wraps. They never remade our beds. We had to ask for maintenance twice to do something to the TV and remote to get them to work. The maintenance man was the best experience of the hotel. The beds were very uncomfortable. The room was very small. There was not enough space for us to set our luggage off the floor. The chairs at the table were not safe to sit in. And the AC unit would make very loud noises randomly, it sounded like lout drilling.

The location It was not clean! Didn’t see any bugs but the house keeping is not good. When I got in the room There was food left in the kitchen, hair all over the bathroom , razors left in shower. The floors was horrible I had to ask for a broom and mop to redo it had piles of sand and trash I swept up. The whole place was full of thick piles of dust ! Trash sat out in hallways for days . A broken picture with glass was left in the hall for 3 days. Pictures from mold that was in the ice bucket asked but didn’t get a new one. Pictures after I swept the floor when I got there!

Ocean front Nothing

Pool was overcrowded. Restaurant on site was amazing and location to outside restaurants and shopping was great!

Pullout couch bed smelled like pee and had no sheets or blankets so we couldnt use it. Great location, River city café on site was nice, they had great food, the other places on the property were not. Very cool lounge in the lobby called sandals. Great view and short walk to the pier
