Bed was hard as a rock. Bathroom floor was dirty. Shower had horrid water pressure. There was a sign on the door telling you to lock the deadbolt in the room for your safety (scary). The door didn’t close correctly unless you slammed it. The door had a paper towel shoved in what should have been a peep hole. The blanket on the bed was a sheet and had a rip in it. It was a loud and unsafe neighborhood with trannys and hookers. Would not recommend.

Took 40 mins to check in because doors where locked and no one was answering the phone.

Clean and well maintained with excellent amenities. Booked another stay before we had even checked out.

Old motel 6 property with better staff and cleaner rooms
-
First the pros: very friendly staff who are courteous and respectful. The exterior of the motel is maintained and is clean. They empty the trash bins outside the rooms constantly which a big plus. There are plenty of decent restaurants in and around national city to DoorDash or visit. There is a super Walmart within 5 minutes by car. At night, they block off the entrance to the motel and an employee is outside making sure no one comes in without a key. The MTS station is within walking distance from the motel which takes around 10 minutes. You can go straight to the convention center with these trains. And now for the cons: yes, there are a LOT of hookers walking up and down the street. You’ll know exactly who they are wearing skimpy revealing clothing with a clutch in their hand. Don’t make eye contact or you will be approached. The cops do stop by and they scatter but they do return to work the street again. I wouldn’t be too scared of them, but it may not be a place where you bring your kids. The room…. So I had to switch rooms on my final night. There was a cockroach the size of a small mouse chilling on the shower wall. Both rooms were not perfect and were dirty if you pay attention to the details. I would definitely avoid national city if you can and stay clear from this motel unless it’s absolutely necessary. Also it’s is very noisy at night being next to the freeway.

Would definitely come again though.

The staff were super friendly and amazing as usual, very helpful when needed, the motel has security overnight which helps people feel safe from unwanted guests. The area is not that bad, very close to downtown San Diego, and Chula Vista, honestly it's a prime location for your money. I plan to use this location every year.

Also great staff

I only booked this room because their website said they were on the naval base, and I was there to visit my son. They are actually 12 miles from where I needed to be to see him. The room was not clean. There was no shampoo, no coffee, the towels were dirty and it was a sketchy neighborhood. I stayed one night out of the three I booked. I explained to them why I needed to move to a different hotel to be closer to my son, they refused to give me any type of refund and also still charged me the $100 holding deposit. Absolutely the worst experience ever with a hotel.

Very pet friendly. Floors were dirty like no one has mopped in there. But otherwise was a good stay.

My family and I stayed 3 nights here and oh, boy where do I start? OK let me begin by saying that this was the only option we could find to pay less than $800 for 3 nights near SD for my family of 5 and if you know how expensive traveling is, you know saving money where you can is crucial. With that said, yes there are women walking the streets but that was not the biggest issue. The main one: NOISE. The freeway is so close so we had to go out and buy ear plugs because the dumb speeders at all hours could wake anyone up! Also, weird men lurking around at night in downstairs room, standing around drinking beer. Definitely made my wife uneasy to grab something from the car at 9pm so I'd always go. First night upon checking in, we found big long black hairs in the bed. Front desk brought me two flat sheets to "help". No comforter so be prepared to sleep in thin cheap sheets. No one ever brought fresh towels and when we asked, we only got 2. The kitchenette was helpful since we e needed storage for food and ice for cooler. Glad we had somewhere to sleep while in the SD area for a quick getaway but will not be returning to this location.

Place was a little dated but clean, which is very important. I never seen staff to be able to review them. Hotel is close to interstate and is very loud but makes it easily accessible to get to interstate?? All in all decent place to stay for the price, just not a lot of amenities there.
