The cleaning crew needs to do a job cleaning bathroom

Some great features were the free parking lot right across the street, clean room (except shower floor), clean and comfortable bedding, bug-free, quiet hallways, an in-room safe and balcony. There were some minuses, including poor water pressure, no workout room, no continental breakfast, free coffee but with powdered creamer only, and, maddeningly, no ice water in lobby. Still, for $83 a night, I can't really complain. Good hotel.

The Alder is just a wonderful place to stay in New Orleans. It has everything you need and is close to the rest. Love the place and especially the people.

This was my second or third time at this hotel, so obviously its fine to repeat stay. The bathroom is a bit shabby, with worn or rusting finishes that don't look very clean. The second time I stayed at the Alder I noticed the electrical outlets near the in-room desk are all disconnected. I told the front desk or left a note. This time I stayed in a different room and found the same issue. The outlets over the in-room desk are all disconnected. I was there on a work trip so this actually mattered to me. I feel bad I can't recall the woman's name who checked me in, but she was lovely and helpful, and even remembered me from my previous stay. When I checked out, I gently alerted the front desk attendant (different person than check-in) about the issue with the desk outlets and she gave me the Gen Z stare and was like "okay so?" So....address the issue with the outlets, but all else is fine.

Pool was great and customer service great. The AC was out the second night but they did bring us a fan.

Super helpful staff, and our family has stayed at the Alder MANY times throughout the years because it's perfect location for us. I cannot recommend this property enough!
-
The neighborhood was pretty quiet and safe(chickens live across the street). I will definitely stay again. If you are the type of person that wants to be in the middle of the action all the time this hotel is not for you. This is a quiet location. You can take a bus or walk to the party. It's not far.

Good service

Agreeably affordable, pleasant staff, safe/free parking, always clean and accommodating room. The Alder is yet again the best kept secret in New Orleans.

Loved Everything, the staff was awesome and the place was very clean and spacious Nothing

The room was clean. The common areas were attractive and the pool was nice. Parking was free and a cross the street in an unsecured fenced area and they do post security in the front of the lobby with a clear view of the parking area. The area wasn't upscale but did not seem too sketchy right behind a major hospital.

I have stayed at several hotels in N.O during the past year and this by far has been the best ( or maybe I am easily pleased). No traffic, no crowds, free parking, old neighborhood that is attracting new interest, walkable to several coffee shops etc and to bus /trolley stops. The hotel itself appears to be remodeled and well cleaned. The Staff are very helpful and pleasant. And the cherry on the cake … the sound of a rooster and chickens (across from the hotel ) in the morning. This is now my preferred place for future travel here.

Marlene on the front desk was the best The only disappointing thing is that there is no breakfast
