Close to streetcar. Good value. Bathroom not clean.

Some good things are the people and the art. Not clean

I really liked the environment of the hostel and the atmosphere around. Great idea to offer a pool in Louisiana :) The personal needs maybe more experience or leadership skills. The AC in the kitchen was not functioning and really need to be fixed (It was impossible to cook in the kitchen—we were sweating buckets.)

Close to the streetcar and the vibes in the hostel were pleasant. The staff was really kind and the people staying there were open to chat. The private room was not at ALL worth the price and as a solo female traveler I did not feel safe. The door was just a piece of wood held together by hopes and dreams. I have to lean my suitcase against the door at night just to close the gap but there was still a huge gap on the side of the “door” facing my bed. The mosquitos were basically my roommate for the two nights I stayed. The padlock given to lock the door was slightly broken and I needed to use force to lock my room. I stayed in a private room without an en-suite bathroom, and you have to walk outside to use it. It rained the entire time I was there so it was not pleasant walking in the rain just to use the toilet. The bathroom was okay, I can tell it’s been cleaned in the mornings but at the same time it didn’t feel or looked clean.

Hot water. Holy shit did it take a long time for the shower water to warm up. The shower spaces need some sort of place to hang clothes where they won't get wet without having to tramp around naked in the shared space. Apparently this is a party hostel? Or they want it to be? It's unclear from the online site and reviews. Maybe it used to be but less so now? Dunno. Why on earth would a place want to be a party hostel beats me, but it was super chill while I was there. Which was great

It was in a good location easily accessible to the city by trolley-bus and near a good coffee shop and bayou wine bar / restaurant. The first room offered to me was awful - not much more than a beach hut with a light and air con. I would have made do however if it weren’t for the neighbours from hell. After asking for a move (at midnight), the receptionist was very understanding and kind and offered me a much nicer and more substantial room for which I was grateful.

Exactly what you want in a hostel, with the added benefit of AMPLE outdoor community / shared space & a pool.

I loved the atmosphere. Being in the heart of historical city park and mid city area is convenient to plan a day in NOLA . Perfect for that last minute trip and the staff is very welcoming. There's lots of history in this property and definitely shows! I didn't like the community refrigerator for all the guest to label their food and it was so unorganized it caused me to have to did everyone's food out until I found mine. I think maybe a 2nd freezer and more shelves would make it a little better.

Convenient to the streetcars. Price. Check-in building was nice. Washrooms can be better. Needs vents remove the moisture and odor.
