James River Inn & Suites

The ac was strong and worked well. I enjoyed the stay. Looks shabby on the outside but it’s a good hotel I’m pleased. Shower was a little tiny but nonetheless for the price sooo worth it.

The renovation to the rooms were very nice.

My room was clean the staff was good and air conditioning was cold.Very nice stay.

Spend the extra money! ( if you can) “clean towel” stained also had a long dark hair on it, shower curtain covered in mold. there wasn’t even a toilet paper holder. I could go on but I will not.

When we first arrived and checked into our room it was bugs in the bed and the bathroom wasn’t clean I went to report it and they came and cleaned the room properly and changed the bedding

Very dirty and felt very unsafe

The pictures dont match whats online. First glance everything looks decent however it is not. Had to kill more than a few roaches so disappointed. Will never stay there again. Only thing that was great was the staff

Hotel was terrible, room very small with king bed(more expensive)smells awful like cigarettes,, sheets very dirty with black and yellow spots all over, we had to used our own blankets and pillows from our car because we were scared to sleep on it,, we didn’t even take showers because the tub and walls of it was so so dirty that even right now thinking about disgusting me, toilet dirty too we used toilet paper over so we can use it. Towels not wash right yellow spots all over we went to Walmart and buy new ones because of this situation. Floor was dirty too my shoes were sticking to it. I was able sleep only to 4;30 am because of the noise outside, bird’s nest right by our window. After night like that whit so many wrong things we dictate to leave this hotel early and go home and not staying there one more night.

Rooms was a decent size and nice for the price The covers they had on the bed were to thin.also my room didn’t come with an ice bucket which made it hard to grab ice. The birds chirping was very loud especially in the morning, felt as if the was in the room.

I’ve been to multiple third world countries and this is what I got. All in all rooms aren’t to bad but had a funny smell, but one look at the property and you would look elsewhere if you have your family with you.

The TV work It was so many roaches I sat up all night spraying roach spray, I threw away my shoes and other items they crawled in. They were coming out of the drawers really bad this is no hallucination. I usually don’t do reviews but this one was horrible. The sheets were burnt up with holes everywhere. I had my own comforter so I took it off. I know you get what you pay for but damn. I only felt safe in the shower. I only stayed because I needed to be close by job the next day.

The court yard was nicely kept We walked into our first room. There was a pan full of old fish and dirty towels everywhere. Bed wasn't made, and the toilet was fithy. Clearly it had not been touched by housekeeping. When we went back to the office the guy asked if we didn't like the room and I told him it would do fine if it was clean but it was absolutely disgustingly dirty and stunk. Do not recommend. Oh and the new remodeld rooms had smoking burns everywhere in the non smoking room. We got a different room and it was next door. We walked into our non smoking room to find that it smelled very strongly of cigarettes and Marijuana with burns from smokers everywhere. It is by far the worst kept place I've seen in Virginia. I could keep going on about every detail but just assume everything was dirty broken or gross. The only thing that worked and was clean was the tvTV. Dont dare show photos because it was so bad. Do not recommend
