Super 8 by Wyndham Newport News/Jefferson Ave.

The sheets were clean. There were a lot of stains on things like the floors, lamp shade, and walls. The staff was nice and I felt bad for them having to put up with the people hanging out in the lobby. Breakfast consisted of apple juice (the orange juice was out), honey buns, oatmeal cream pies, apples, bananas and yogurt that was frozen.

Was ok

The staff was extremely rude. I had been driving for 8 hours straight, arrived a hour early before checkout time. Offered to pay the fee to check in early. The lady told me with an attitude that I was too early. It also took a very long time to get checked in. Hands down the rudest staff I have ever been around in any hotel ever. Lots of dudes hanging out around the building loitering and doing illegal things. I also got accused of being one of those loitering guys by the staff. Never ever come here.

The bathroom and carpet were filthy. The shower had hair allover it. I had to scrub the shower 3 times to get it clean.

This place served its purpose. Not our usual accommodations but it was last minute. Air conditioning worked well, it was over 100^ outside during our stay. Not a great area, away from all the shopping. The continental breakfast was a joke, it literally was served at the front door next to the check-in lobby. Needless to say, we didn’t partake. It was quiet and a fast check out. We had a king size bed and there were 3 couch size pillows to use that were nearly as hard as rocks, couldn’t use them.

My husband stayed for one night due to working. Continental breakfast is honey buns. A bunch of honey buns. The coffee looks like tea. Just be prepared.

TV pet fee and restrictions. Had to have a kennel or carrier for our pet not stated online. Room was not clean. Bathroom was dirty. Staff coing to the room to ask have we taken our pet outside.

Honestly. Just never again. Like ever. Only nice thing was the guy at taco bell late on way in. This place is the pits. Seriously like a ghetto vapong weed smoking employees and guests. Gross stay. Ewww. Having nightmare flash backs. Beds comfy but coukd nt wait tonkeave there. Held my breath all way down. Check in guy was amazing tho. Friendly Indian!

Was ok room, but there’s were no breakfast and smell to strong of weed and cigarettes which is make me sick , wish they can maintain their atmosphere better.

Cleaness ok, didn't see any bugs. Front desk staff was friendly. water pressure and drainage were good. There was some noise from the fan and a bit of outside noise as well. If you're staying for just one night, it would be fine.

Exceptional

The room was satisfactory for where I was the neighborhood is kind of sketchy in that part of Newport News. The hotel was very good condition I've stayed there before. But my ratings are pretty much because of the location. Sometimes there's a little bit of suspect traffic in the parking lot like homeless people. But I've been satisfied with this hotel the two times I've stayed there. And considering again where it's located it could have been way worse so my expectations were exceeded clean and comfortable. The location you can't control the area. A lot of the hotels in this area don't have super high ratings because of some of the vagrancy that's nearby. But I felt completely safe while I was there but you can just tell it's not a top-notch area/neighborhood.
