Hampton Inn Newport

There was no safe in the rooms, they did not come daily to make beds and leave clean towels, Hallway carpet was dirty, Staff was not friendly at all.

The hotel was conveniently located. All staff pleasant and courteous. Breakfast buffet decent. Thats the good …But either they gave us the worst / oldest room in the hotel (Rm 130) or we just had bad luck. Shade was crooked (roman shade was lopsided), carpet was filthy. Some really disgusting staining and something that looked like a piece of old fruit on the floor by the ac unit. Didn’t know what it was until I pushed with my shoe. ECH!!! Shower had crust (mold) around the outside. Shower door wouldn’t stay closed. Cabinet door on mini fridge would not stay shut. Lighting extremely poor (no overhead lighting except for entry way). And the ac unit when starting up sounded like a toilet flushing in the room. Wow.

They really need to keep people at the desk. Should not have to chase down a rep at the desk. You had a note hanging up about maintenance that was going to happen on a holiday weekend and that we had to give access to our room. I asked if they were coming in because I had my valuables in the room. The lady said they were coming in so we had to take our laptops and stuff with us just to find out they never even came in our room. You need to have a better schedule for such things especially on a holiday weekend. Got a text asking how things were going and when I responded regarding this of course nobody responded. Just not an ideal way to spend our trip.

Room was really clean, and had everything needed for taking a shower. Plenty of towels! Breakfast was good and had a good variety of everything. All the staff were nice and helpful!! Put pool towels out at the pool--there wasn't any.

Ricardo was awesome and he went the extra mile for me. He has good customer service skills and made sure that I was completely satisfied with my stat. The people who served breakfast were also great and the girl at the front desk in the morning.. Hotel was clean and well kept. Thank You

Air conditioning was perfect and stayed cool all night.

Basic needs were met. Can’t complain for the price paid. Hotel pool was nice.

I would say the coffee could have been kept full and the breakfast person was not very attentive to keeping items available. Specifically bread

The carpets definitely need a good shampooing. Other areas in the room were clean, counters, bathroom, inside refrigerator. The bedding was clean and the mattresses were comfortable.

quick check in and check out process. Variety of breakfast options was nice each day to not have the same thing every day. It was nice that they text you if you need anything you can ask them. We forgot water bottles and they did reply that they have complimentary bottles in the lobby. After driving all day, it was nice to have a well lite parking lot for safety. Breakfast wasn't set out consistently all together. Yogurt wasn't out with the rest of the breakfast, boiled eggs weren't chilled enough in the container. Oatmeal was thick one day and runny the next and breakfast started closing at 9:40 not 10. The restroom in the hotel room had mold in the shower curtain and in the corners of the shower. The vanity design to have the faucet come out of the corner lead to water covering the counter which is no fault of the managing staff but rather the designers of the room. The vanity legs in the room were rusted which I'm assuming is due to the higher humidity. The Gym only having one functioning treadmill with 2 out of order was disappointing as my family wasn't able to workout at the same time. Providing a short cut guide of channels would be recommended as the pause between changing the channels is lengthy. The hotel had one elevator operating instead of 2 causing delays at times from the room to the lobby. The app to use as a room key didn't work.
