Hardly slept due to unidentifiable noise that kept waking me.

Location , close to the interstate 95 The motel's cleanliness was highly questionable; there was a hole in the bathroom wall, the electrical outlets lacked covers, and I had to ask for soap. The biggest issue arose when I asked the man at the reception about breakfast—which was included in the price but not provided—and he simply walked away, slamming the door behind him. I had never experienced anything like it; it was awful. He wouldn't even come out when I wanted to ask for a payment receipt. I only received the confirmation of payment after a representative from Wyndham intervened. A terrible experience. I’m sorry for the mother with two children who also was hopping for bowl of cereal before continuing their journey.

There wasn't any breakfast as advertised.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

I didn't see any breakfast in the lobby, so if there was a free breakfast, we missed it. With that said, if there had been breakfast in the lobby, I wouldn't have eaten it because the lobby smelled awful! Where do I start? The room was filthy. I'm not JUST talking about the dirty light fixtures, outlets, etc. But someone's garbage was still there. The coverlet and sheets were stained - there was no way I was putting my head on those pillows! Luckily I had an extra pillow and blanket in the car - I slept on top of the bed. And the price was crazy expensive.

They don't serve breakfast at all they said, even though it is advertised to the public and that is the reason I chose to stay there. The property smelled bad, there were fist holes in the wall and they still refused to change my room. The worst hotel experience I have ever had. I will never return nor recommend. Everything. Wyndham Super 8 needs to separate from this business and they will harm the reputation in the local community. The Econolodge across the street looks immaculate.

As they say, you get what you pay for. The rooms smelled of smoke. Furniture and decor much outdated. The room I was checked into wasn’t even made. When I went into my new room, there was no amenities. Blow dryers also poorly functioning.

I didn’t even get to stay here. They claimed that Expedia canceled my reservation, which was not true, then when Expedia called them, they refused to assist. When I called, they hung up on me! This place is the worst, the staff is ignorant and rude.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. There was a drunk or stoned individual sitting on the staircase by the front door when we drove in. (See attached photo.) When I walked into the lobby (which was a mess and smelled), a young woman had been waiting for nearly half an hour for a receptionist to show up. I pressed the buzzer repeatedly. No response from any staff member. The young lady who had been waiting told me she had stayed at this hotel before and said it was terrible. She strongly recommended that I find another hotel. My wife refused to have us check in because it looked and felt unsafe. We found another hotel nearby. When I called Raj, the manager of this place, he was rude, dismissed my story, said I would be charged for the stay, and hung up on me. He claimed that there was no one at the front desk because "they were serving other customers." If Raj responds to this post, he will likely lie about what happened. There are safer, better-run facilities just around the corner. Do not waste your money or your time at this dump in Old Saybrook. I intend to contact Geoffrey Billotti, the President and CEO of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, directly to let him know that this Super 8 franchisee is ruining his company's reputation.

We got in and had to wait nearly half an hour with small kids for the receptionist to show up to check us in. Then I was bitten by bed bugs.

Booked the room for my son.On the third night of the stay he returned to the room to find his belongings missing. No one available at the desk. No one available at 7 the next morning. Returned at 10 and several items of clothing were returned. No apologies, no offer of restitution. When I called and spoke to the manager she was defensive and blamed my son for not demanding she do more than just return his clothes.

Good area and served purpose for the price. Rooms could use some cosmetic updates.

We didn’t stay! The rooms smelled terrible! The bed comforters had stains on them! We left and drove home! The rooms smelled terrible and dirty! We didn’t stay we went home! I want a FULL REFUND!

The TV was terrible. The horrible reception made it almost unwatchable--there were fuzzy lines going across the screen, and the sound quality was muffled. The room had quite a few lamps, but not all of them worked.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Room had another person's luggage in it. Stairs are too steep. Balcony carpet smells of urine. Used food container in drawer. No USB ports, Remote won't turn on TV, lamps turn off randomly, much, much, more

Not clean. Lots of trash and cigarette biota around

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

There is literally nothing to like about this hotel. It is vile and disgusting It is dirty, the sheets were ripped and stained. All rooms smelled of old smoke, there was garbage littered all outside and the receptionist was high on drugs. It is not safe and needs to be shut down. It is a very poor reflection on booking, com that this hotel is even listed. It needs to be shut down by the health department. Is is more of a half way house for drug users.

There was no breakfast not even a food vending machine. Duct tape holding boards down on the floor. Trip situation. No smoke alarm. You can tell there was one there because of the wires. Put milk in fridge and froze over night. Coffee pot - instead of one that most hotels have this was a small 4 cup coffee pot from a department store. I almost left with it turned on - no auto shutoff.
