The check in process was easy and the front desk worker was very nice, polite and helpful. He told me about the rewards program and got me signed up. The room was very clean and well maintained. At breakfast the next morning, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and hot. The lady cleaning the tables was so nice and caring. She told us about how she works in the kitchen now and helps prepare the food and you could feel how much she cares and loves working there and doing her job. She was a great bright spot of the overall experience. It was nice getting back to the room to get ready after hiking for a visitation and being able to get some fresh coffee before heading up to the room. Overall this location deserves a 10/10 as everything exceeded our expectations. Would definitely stay there again.

We absolutely adored "Shorty", the sweet little breakfast lady. She asked how our stay was, she let us know about places around the hotel. And she kept the dining area immaculate. Give her a raise!!!!!

Good breakfast with lots of variety. Perfect before a day of hiking. Nice pool. The employees were very friendly and helpful. There is no coffee maker in the rooms and their fresh ground coffee downstairs is just ok. Bed mattress was very hard. They don’t have smart TVs so you only get cable channels. Very few movies except a couple of HBO channels and you can’t stream your own subscriptions. Workers in several rooms around us, leaving out early for breakfast, literally slammed their doors leaving and returning, from 5:30-6:30 - so much for sleeping in. Ice maker was broken on 2nd floor. Most of these issues were surprising after such high reviews.

First time stay at Holiday Inn in Ottawa. The hotel was exceptional. It was so clean and fresh I thought it was newly opened but it’s their 7th year of operation. Breakfast buffet was exceptional, huge variety of food and excellent coffee. The room was great, very comfortable beds and lots of extras you don’t normally see. Highly recommend!

The front desk host was argumentative and rude. Charged me for my service dog after I made prior arrangements weeks before my arrival. Not dog friendly at all and beware that there'sa post saying you will be charged a $250 cleaning fee for pets. Stay away from there if you have animals.

Beds were way to soft and the same with the pillows.
