Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center

The hotel was just ok.. it needs so updates. For the amount of money I spend a night. It should be more updates.. mattress was horrible.. bathroom was not cleaned the best.. Just ok.. probably won't stay here again...

The rooms are small, dated, smelly, and dark. The bathrooms are like a cheap motel. The pool is tiny. Good location though.

-Check in process took too long, so they really need to turn rooms over more quickly after guests check out. It shouldnt take 2.5 hrs after guests clearly checked out for a rm to be ready. -For being a beach hotel they should really offer BEACH towels that guests can actually take to the beach, instead of having that service worker stalking people in the lobby trying to identify who is taking room towels to the pool or beach -the bathroom shower had little to no water pressure and took too long to get warm -lastly, the fire alarms need to be better maintained since they went off twice while there at 2am, one time was allegedly due to some kids pulling it on purpose (see prev comment about the chaotic family atmosphere), and then supposedly a car struck a water sprinkler—but we dont know for sure because the hotel never communicated what happened and the staff was NOWHERE to be found during the 2am fire alarms. Ridiculous.

We stay here every year. Always a great experience. Thanks! See ya next year

Love ocean front- nice updated room

Hotels.com does not show the real photos! The room we booked had no carpet, updated furnishings, and a new bathroom. The room we got was super old, with carpet rolling up and uncovered outdoor ac unit. Very disappointed in the bait and switch. The room was as clean as it could be for being so old, and staff were friendly, but I won’t take a chance booking here again until the whole hotel has a renovation not just certain floors

Staff were attentive and helpful. The pool was especially nice. The location allows for excellent access to the beach, restaurants, and shops. Minor issues with the room were promptly addressed by the staff. We will stay here again.

No complaints, great location, view, and amenities

Nice weekend

The hotel was conveniently located on the boardwalk and close to the beach , close to the shops and restaurants. However, the hotel itself is old and outdated. The rugs smelled. We had two locks in our room that didn’t work. The ice machine needed to be cleaned, and there was only one available due to repairs on others. I had no interaction with the staff except for check-in.

Staff was excellent. Room and property were very clean. However, after a renovation the room had minimal storage. Also the WiFi is awful. We could not connect at all and the people in the next room would gather in the hall to watch football on their laptop as it was the only place they could get internet.

we love the Atlantic sands for It’s pool and access to the boardwalk. Well, the property is older. Seems well maintained. The rooms are a little tight, but you can’t beat the location.!

Overall good location and clean facility

Keri at the front desk is rotten and speaks poorly to everyone. our shower water only was freezing cold or scorching hot and when we asked for help or to change rooms the maintenance manager advised the water was fine and it was a “comfortable temperature for a shower”. it turned my skin bright red and i could not give my 2 year old a bath in water that hot. the mini fridge was dirty, the cabinets were falling apart, they don’t give full size pillows just couch pillows that are small squares, the ice machine was covered in mold. keri at the front desk and the head of maintenance will talk poorly about you at the front desk, loudly for other patrons to hear. they over book and allow staff to park in the parking garage making it so there is not enough parking for the people paying for there rooms there. Keri at the front desk will tell you if you didn’t book directly through the Atlantic Sands they will NOT accommodate anything that’s wrong w the room bc it is “not there problem bc it wasn’t booked directly through the hotel”. this was a HORRIBLE experience and would NEVER return. i highly encourage you to book at another hotel. The Henlopen was great last year.
