The distance from Mayo was the primary reason for use. The light switch inside the door did nothing. The first night the desk lamp would not work. The refrigerator was missing its shelf. There was a lot of confusion on my reservation. Causing my room to be emptied of my items and loss of my planned meal for the second day of my stay. This annoyed me as I was told multiple times it wouldn’t be a problem.

It's always a pleasure staying at the Kahler Grand Hotel. I doctor at Mayo Clinic and the convenience of being so close is such a comfort. This is my first choice when booking in Rochester. The only thing I could think of is there wasn't a spare roll of toilet paper in the room- we ran out the morning we left.
-
Connected to Mayo Clinic very convenient. Dead roach in the bathroom, noisy.
-
good great fine
-
Close proximity to Mayo Clinic.
-
(Slight problem with some cleanliness of the room that we reported to staff.)

You can't beat the Kahler for being close to the Mayo Clinic. The rooms have been remodeled and are generally very clean. Some of the bathroom fixtures are dated, but still functional. For a clean room, nice bed and close to Mayo, it's still my choice when I travel to Rochester.

The only problem was all the construction in the area
-
Great location for Mayo Clinic, many restaurants and amenities close as well.
-
The bathroom was tiny and very dated. Shower head was too low and water pressure was hard to moderate.
-
Sheet were soiled shower had no pressure refrigerator stunk!
-
Just be careful of what room you get. We got the tiniest room. Could not move around room unless one person was sitting down.
-
The hotel is good but the rooms are old so not up to modern standards. They are clean and comfortable with nice beds. The HVAC system is antiquated and confusing. The secondary amenities of the room are Spartan and similar to budget hotels. The restaurants and other accessible amenities are quite good.
-
Staff was very friendly, very walkable if you are going to the Mayo clinic or hospitals.
