Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester Downtown

Rated it only a 3 based on the breakfast buffet experience. When selecting a hotel we chose this one as it included a breakfast buffet. People were sticking their bare hands in the waffle batter mix tub to scoop out the batter because the dispenser was clogged. The meat that was served was like a chopped up hot dog. We decided to just take an apple and go. Food was running low and it was very busy and they appeared understaffed as they had one person trying to keep everything clean and stocked. Parking was extremely limited and we were told we could park at the museum lot but they lock the garage overnight. We ended up not moving our car for our whole stay and had to walk to our dinner reservation with our small child as we did not want to lose our parking space.

The staff were very friendly. We had two rooms and both were very clean. The decor was very modern. I would definitely stay here again. I called the day before and let the staff know we were celebrating our child's birthday. And the staff all signed a birthday card. It was also laminated which was so sweet. My kid loved it! Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

Very nice hotel with excellent amenities. The location was perfect for downtown activities like the Strong Museum of Play.

Great place to stay while visiting the Strong Museum. Lots of stuff to do within walking distance.

Breakfast was just ok. No staff was available to clean tables and one of the trash bins was overflowing. We only stayed one night and didn’t use the amenities but the room was clean and the beds were comfortable!

A very short walk to Live Music events at MLK Park and right across the street from the Strong National Museum of Play. I was there for a one night music event. The hotel is bright and comfortable. Very nice King room - comfortable bedding, large TV, coffee & fridge. Exceptionally nice bathroom with walk in shower. For me a huge plus was the bright lighting because Hotel bathrooms can look dingy. Reasonable pricing, free parking and a nice well rounded breakfast made the stay very enjoyable.

This is probably the nicest budget hotel I've ever stayed in. The location is great. The hotel is brand new. It was a great stay.

Location was perfect for visiting the Strong Museum. Food at breakfast was good. Food at in house restaurant was good. Beds are very uncomfortable. Bathroom sink did not drain, but fixed quickly once brought to attention of management. Floor in room entrance and bathroom was very dirty upon checkin. Asked for cleaning staff to clean it, but it was not addressed. Pool water was uncomfortably cold to swim in. Therefore unable to use the amenity more than once. Disappointment for the children.

Tanner was especially helpful when my wife needed an extra pillow. The breakfast was amazing, the room 1st class - all in all, one of the better Hampton Inn properties we have ever stayed in!

Very nice hotel to stay in due to its cleanliness, welcoming and friendly staff, amenities and conveniently close to the Strong Museum of Play. I would stay here again and again if I come to Rochester, NY.

Convenient to Eastman campus

Nice room, good breakfast, pool and fitness center. Great location next to the museum of play.

Booked on Expedia and when we arrived they did not have a room for us and were fully booked. Did not get a room until 11pm and we were with a little one.

Very clean, excellent location, spacious rooms, staff very helpful, parking available and free. I wish breakfast had more options but it was still good. Thank you, Will be back!
