Hyatt Regency Rochester

This is the worst hotel experience I had ever have. We checked in around 8pm Saturday night, our room at 5th floor faced street and was very noise, once we entered the room, my son felt uncomfortable because of the noise from the street, I went to the lobby and asked if they have another room we can switch, I can pay extra, but they said they run out of room. I went back to the room and noticed the room has no pillow, so I called front desk to ask for pillows, the pillows arrived around 9:20. Then I started to get my son to sleep, and I threw back the cover and saw blood on the cover sheet, I was shocked and went downstairs again, the front desk lady seems run out patience and show me that they are fully booked, tbh, I did not want to change room that much because I am scared, I worried that the blood-stained sheets are biologically contaminated. It was too late so I asked them to change the bed. The new sheets and cover came around 9:45 but the person is only here for delivery. My husband went downstairs to the front desk again and a security came back with him to check the sheet, and she told us the night shift manager will show up around 10. We wait in the room until 10:08 and I went down again and met the manager, she gave us two options, stay and set up the bed by ourselves or get refund and leave. Nobody said sorry about the blood-stained sheets, they believed I was unreasonably troublesome just wanted to change room. Btw, towel is dirty too.

Honestly been staying here for work the last 3 years. They host a convention i work every year. This hotel gets worse every year snd the prices keeps going up. At this point you're just paying for the Hyatt name. Elevators are dangerous and broke down on us 3 times this visit. You can hear them scraping the walls as they go up amd down. They advertise a pool and hot tub. Hot tub is boarded up and looks like it has been for years. The hall way that divided the hotel and conference center smells like body odor and feet. Dont think the carpet has been cleaned in years. Everything is outdated and run down. Corners on everything broken dust in corners. Literally room wasn't swept or mopped the whole 5 days we were there. This place does the bear minimum to keep you there. You can tell the staff is all amazing and just doing what there allowed and told not there fault. Whomever owns this hotel is cheap and isnt taking care of the property properly. Just putting on bandaids. Gotta stay again for work in a couple more months will update for year 4.

Great Experience

Good staff, but the property lacks maintenance, especially the amenities. The room is spacious but the mattress and the shower are both dated/old. Not worth it.

The room... The room itself was nice but definitely not cleaned very well. There was chunks of wig on the bathroom floor. I would definitely ask for a different room but we were staying there for less than 7 hours and the front desk person was so nice we didn't want to bother him. The elevator sounded a little scary but we can't complain too much since most places in the area had no rooms available and this nice man at the front desk accomodated us and we were able to rest with the roof over our heads. I wish i remembered his name.

The hot tub was out of service and our shower had patch work all over the floor. Also none of the bars were open. One good thing was it was in good walking distance to resturants and bars!

The night is 240$ but they charge me 337$ some nights I will not let this slide I having some calls with my bank is never about the money is about what making me feel stupid?

The location was near the bus station and Greyhound drop off site. The city is very walkable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hallway outside many rooms were dirty from the cleaning carts, needed to be vacuumed.

It is dirty and there is trash everywhere, the staff doesn't care about their jobs or the hotel. Not a single greeting, no "welcome to the Hyatt", just people who stare at you wondering what you are doing in the lobby. It isn't safe, there are homeless people everywhere, some of them loud and violent. We didn't see a single security guard or police presence during our 4 day stay. We were in town for a visit and are from Rochester and it's terrible the way this hotel has fallen apart. It used to be one of the crown jewels of downtown. And it wasn't cheap. We would have gotten more value out of a Motel 6. Paying $200 night to feel unsafe and dirty doesn't seem like much of a bargain.

Good location. Parking seems to be under construction. Helpful check in. Nice sized room. Room just needed a really good deep clean - corners seem to be neglected with dust bunnies and whatever else but overall a good experience.

Front desk interested in their own conversations prior to my check in and check out. Once focused on me it went well.

Water pressure was terrible The furniture was broken The lift was broken and no one offered to assist with multiple bags during check-in no concern over safety

I expected something more than what was offered. The room was mediocre. The Hyatt has a name that says fancy but it was standard.

Great place

I was thoroughly impressed with this hotel. Clean. Attentive staff. Good locations. Pool was under maintenance but I’ll be back so I’ll check it out then.
