Western Inn Roswell

Great location right next to some restaurants and along the main drag. It's north-center in town and basically 15 minutes away from everything. The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained. The paint-scheme in this room was a nice touch with Roswell's alien theme and the bathroom was nicely updated. Can have thicker towels in the bathroom and a little more generous with the toiletries. With the double queen room, the interior room has a lower ceiling, so this is something to consider for taller guests.

The price was okay, but I didn't find out until I arrived that there was an extra fee for my pet--this wouldn't have been a big deal, except when I made the registration online, I clearly stated that I had a pet. There was no indication that there would be an additional fee. When I arrived the staff were unwelcoming and kept walking away from the window. I spoke with 4 different people over 20 minutes before I was able to check in. Frustrating!

Very run down. The outside of the rooms needed paint and repairs. There were questionable people just sitting in areas. It looked more like a low income rentals instead of a motel. Actually very scary. A sign said to park your car at your own risk. In the front of our room was a cinder block tied with metal wiring that said drain cover. The room was hideous colors..it was fairly clean but questionable. The sheets and pillowcases were very wrinkled.

Honestly great for the price

Nothing. BEWARE! DO NOT BOOK! I’ve traveled from Florida to the west coast and now back to Florida in the past 3 weeks and this was ABSOLUTELY the worst hotel we have booked. Worst hotel I’ve booked in my life. Room 105. Unsanitary. Brown, dried, sticky liquid on walls. Hair on bedsheets which looked unwashed. Brown fresh staining on mattress sheet and a squished bug. The owner also stated they do not wash their mattress covers which are cotton fabric and not waterproof (ours was visibly dirty with brown and black marks). Mold on walls in closet which they tried to paint over. Horrible area with shady activities. We got there a little after 9pm for check in got the keys and went to eat after driving from Arizona. When we came back and went in we were shocked at the unsanitary accommodations. Told the owner about the issues and he woke his wife up to make her go look and be mean to her about it. Awkward. Then he proceeded to say there was nothing wrong with the room. Refused a refund. We left by 11pm. Called booking and they informed me the owner was not answering the phone. I got an email from booking this morning saying they got ahold of the owner and he declined a refund. The hotel was only like $60 after taxes so I’m surprised this place refused to refund. We also did not use their facilities. Did not use the bathroom or bed. I did not touch anything. My husband pulled back the sheets to inspect. We were not even checked in for 2 hours. One hour was going out to dinner the second hour was inspecting and reporting to the owner. Definitely shows the kind of people they are. I would pay $60 just to not have to stay in that place. I also have a 3 year old daughter and I did not feel comfortable letting her run around and play in the unsanitary room. Do not bring your children here. Also states they have a playground on site for children on booking which is one of the reasons we chose them. Literally no playground. Just shady motel guests lingering outside staring at us.

Affordable. Nice little community feel.

The cleaning staff knocking on the doors like the police was tough. I worked nights for my job there and it would have been nice to have Do Not Disturb hangars. Other than that it was fine.

it's central location was a perk in itself. Dog friendly was noticeable and another great perk. Ice machine was in great working order. Parking was an ease. They didn't let me cancel a day early in order to get a refund, so had to stay an extra day with not much to do left in the area.

The bed was really comfortable! Only staying one day.

The only positive thing was the alien sculptures outside the property. There is no proper reception area, and the property is in a serious state of disrepair. There was dog feces at the entrance to our room, and the picture hanging above the bed was dripping something unpleasant. The room was extremely cold, cleaning was poor, and the furniture was very outdated. We booked for two nights but left after the first night because we didn’t feel comfortable staying longer. Overall, it was far too expensive for the condition of the hotel.
