The Grand Hotel - Salem

Beautiful hotel and clean rooms. The staff were very friendly and the buffet was on point. We will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Salem for the night.

It is a beautiful hotel, but we got into the elevator after checking in and it was kind of terrifying. The doors were screeching, the elevator kept feeling like it was going to break and we were going to get stuck in it, we used the stairs after that. The room was nice, we got the king suite, it was very hot when we got up there, I turned on the AC and it was so loud you couldn't focus. There were dried spill marks that looked like milk running down the sink or wet car area. When I used the shower, it is very high up and it has a big shower head and it took forever to get the shampoo out of my hair. I laid on the bed and instantly started having an allergy to something in the room, we ended up checking out like 6 hours later. We spent maybe an hour in the room because it was so hot and stuffy, loud and there was a big spider that crawled across the bed. When I checked out, I didn't expect a full refund, I didn't even bring it up but I told them our experience and they didn't offer any accommodations to rectify it. The gentleman just said "ok, bring me your key cards". As far as location, it's right in the hub of everything, I wish we could have stayed or at least received a partial refund.

My husband and I just happened to stop by Salem, OR and decided to book the Grand Hotel. The staff, breakfast room all fabulous. The room was clean and comfortable.

Nice, clean hotel. Only one elevator worked but that was the only issue that we had.

The hotel is beautifully decorated in the lobby. Our room is comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet is plentiful. Underground parking is nice. Staffs are courteous and helpful.

Beautiful property and excellent staff

Very good room and confortable bedding. Nice lobby, kind staff, walkable to dining options but the hotel restaurant is closed Sundays and Mondays.

This is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. I took off one star just because the shower had almost no water pressure. But all the other amenities were great. They even provided ear plugs and a sound machine to help with the street noise outside. We slept great! And the breakfast was top notch.

Went with my two kids and my parents. They were very accommodating at getting us adjoined rooms. Breakfast was good and staff were very kind

The only minor downside was some noise at night from children jumping on the floor above us. However, the staff handled the situation promptly and professionally. Next time, we’ll definitely request a room on the top floor! We look forward to returning.

From the moment we stepped into the lobby- the staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The room was enjoyable and the bed was actually comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Great hotel, I will consider staying again

Everything was perfect on my two night stay. The entire team was helpful, got me a room close to the pool/hot tub and suggested their grill for dinner and that was amazing too. I will definitely be back again!

The hallways and breakfast room was way too hot. Why no ac in the halls or where you’re having breakfast. It felt like a sauna (to me). For the price of the room I was a little disappointed in the room. It was nice , I guess for close to $300 I expected more.

Wish that the Happy Hour lasted more than a few hours and that ther bar stayed open past 9:00! Also it was hot in Salem all day but the hotel proper did not seem to be air conditioned and it was hot inside. Otherwise nice room with A/C.

I came to Salem to attend festivities for my cousin’s 10 year wedding anniversary. The Grand Hotel in Salem, Oregon was grand indeed! I was and I felt like I was in the lap of luxury for four nights. Every staff member I encountered were helpful , friendly, and gracious. I really appreciated that I could check in early. My room was immaculate and spacious, which allowed me to spread out especially at the computer desk to do my business then adjourn to the plush love seat. The use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi helped me sleep very well! Food and drinks at the bar were excellent along with friendly servers. I might add breakfast(s) I looked to. The cool unique part was some elevators were walled with old newspaper articles on Salem’s history which I enjoyed since this is my state capital! Thanks Grand Hotel!!

For the cost it’s not an ideal stay. The location is pretty perfectly located within the city, the overall quality of room is poor.
