Rancho Bernardo Inn

The grounds were about the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The rooms were clean, neat, and of a good size. Considering how old the hotel is it’s well kept, probably it has been updated many times, but the rooms still have a somewhat dated feel. Nevertheless a wonderful stay awaits you.

Dam dogs, they need to restrict them to one of the 7 buildings, not all 7 you can't avoid them.

Room was good. But didn’t have a key to access the full presidential suite. It was a short stay. So not critical. Also lobby girl advised waters in room. No complimentary waters. Landscaper blew early. Needs upgraded. Didn’t have access to the full suite. Dinner in bar was fabulous though.

Staff is great. Both restaurants are top notch. Avant- for Dinner is our favorite when in the SD area.

They also timed the arrival of multiple wedding parties with the normal check-in time, it left me to ask where were the staff members or event coordinators? Cars being trapped by shuttle buses, brides being dropped in the middle of crowded walkways, lines of cars and guests. No seeming direction for function or hotel guests. It was a mess. I would not stay here again if you paid me. There are many exceptional properties you could choose around San Diego avoid this aging property. If you golf the course looks lovely.

The staff were super friendly and the room was very clean and well-maintained. The location and amenities were all great, making my stay extremely comfortable. I would definitely love to stay here again—highly recommended!

Exceptional

If my wife and I return in December, we will enjoy spa amenities and I will play golf. The bathrooms had nice amenities, the mattress was firm and comfortable, and the room was indeed clean. The food was tasty and the menu had enough variety and was above par. My mains(swordfish) was cooked to perfection - Our salads could have been better. The Caesar dressing did not taste home made. The breakfast omelet was tasty and full of good ingredients incl. mushrooms The coffee was good tasting

Check-in staff was great, room was very nice but grounds around the rooms could use some maintenance.

The gym seriously needs a refresh and the non spa pool needs a revamp and better service. The spa pool is beautiful but you can only get access by booking spa treatments daily to gain access. Lovely resort but in major need of modernization.

Beautiful property

The aesthetic is beautiful but after checking in, the spa could use some updating.. The adult pool had undies on the floor, bandaids on the pool floor. Just felt more attention to detail would make this 5 star… a pool attendant and small bar in the adult area would be amazing instead of QR code

Exceptional

The resort checked all the boxes. The golf, restaurant, and pool areas were all above par. The rooms were spacious and clean. Definitely returning next year.

Everyone there was extremely helpful. The food is great and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The scenery of the property is beautiful and breathtaking. I would love to stay here again. Thank you so much to everyone who works there.

Definitely worth staying at for all your needs: food, spa, pool … room and of course, the people who work there.

This is a stately and beautifully curated hotel. The grounds were lovely and extensive, the rooms were wonderful, and everything was high quality.
