Courtyard by Marriott San Diego - Rancho Bernardo

nice hotel friendly staff.

We traveled with our team from the Bay Area of CA. They stayed in Escondido but we traveled more miles to Rancho Bernardo because they had two queens available here. We checked in and when we got to our room, there was one King bed and a couch. When I informed the employee at the front desk, she said they had to "move things around because they are fully booked." They basically gave our room up to someone else and when I told her this, she said, "No, that is not what we did." They also failed to give me a refund because I booked through Expedia. Although the other employees were kind, this stay was horrible. We were uncomfortable as a family of four and not to mention, the other elevator was down. If it is important for you to have two beds, don't stay here.

Location was very good. Nice lounge area. Beautiful grounds with pond and many ducks & turtles. Parking area was pretty tight. Only one elevator was working.

Thpe property was very dirty, including the rooms. There was an unpleasant smell throughout, and the bathroom was broken. The staff were unhelpful and not accommodating. Overall, I did not have a pleasant stay at this property and would not recommend it.

Staff excellent, restaurant excellent, but Multiple requests were required for more towels and coffee. Outside patio furniture was not clean. Room was very clean, looked wonderful. Manager Ian was accommodating and terrific with understanding our needs.

Hotel was extremely hot, a/c in room did not work well. Customer service was great, they had maintenance look at it right away. We were offered a different room or a fan. We opted for a fan and were given complimentary breakfast. All staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Older hotel, could use some updating but clean and comfortable.

I was shocked what I got for the $200 range on a Saturday in San Diego (mid-July).

Pretty nice

The room itself was clean and there was a lovely pond and walking path in the back of the property. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I was disappointed with the common areas, not clean or well maintained. We always stay at Courtyard Marriott and this was not the usual standard. The hotel was warm and stuffy, soiled carpets and littered. There was also no coffee or food service available until after 7am which is quite inconvenient for early risers.

Clean rooms

Room was clean. Bed and bedding was very comfortable. Hotel lobby was moderately maintained (I.e. overflowing trashing, dirty tile, complementary water empty). However, this could be due to having a large group of baseball players and family staying. Pool was heated and nice.

Courtyard view, beautiful but probably won’t get one. No free breakfast. Small pool. Does the job but for $300 a night not worth it. And they will try to charge you a $15 parking fee.

The reasons are, there is no continental or complementary breakfast (I rarely have time time for a sit down breakfast served by waitstaff) and parking in the hotel parking lot costs $15 per night.

Staff was very polite and nice to talk to to check in. They have a nice bar with cocktails evening night Cap before bed. Rooms are nice and clean.
