    Very good

Very friendly staff, stayed in the Inn with Euro bathroom which was fine. Our air condition unit was disconnected from the window which wasn’t apparent and it recycled hot air into the room. If you desire a quiet stay was a little lacking as the 100 level ks along an alley way and you can hear everyone finishing up their nights hooting and hollering. The bathrooms were not assessed for cleanliness during our one night stay, but other patrons were respectful. Bed was super comfy and room was as advertised, coffee in lobby in the morning.

Location can't be beat. Charming vibes. Room was very small, which we expected. However, there was no air conditioning, and the room was street level so it was very noisy having the window open. The toilets clogged very easily and the shower was mediocre.

Helpful, attentive staff Street level room had no buffer from street noise. Window AC unit made it impossible to close the blinds fully and they did not have black out so the room was bright super early. Room was so small the door hit the bed upon entry.

This is a European style, youth hostel type set up with only a few rooms having ensuite bathrooms (they provide bathrobes.) Those that do are supposedly very tiny - closet-like with doors that barely open. We stayed in room 208 for five nights and it was towards the back of the hotel and just across from the toilets and showers. No elevator so be aware you'll have to lug your stuff down a long hallway and up a bunch of stairs. Yes, it was loud at times but you're on Ballard Avenue so that's to be expected. No desk staff but rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. Free access to the Olympic health club across the street is a bonus.

The images are pretty deceiving. We stayed in a room with a full bed for almost $300 - it was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. The room needs some major updates, and it was SO dang hot. The location was nice - I was traveling to work and could easily grab a nightcap since it was downtown Ballard. I would have felt better paying $125 for this room. Staff was super nice!

Great location for purpose of my trip. Staff of the hotel was always courteous and helpful. Seems to be an expensive neighborhood. Ok since most planned activities are also in the neighborhood.

    Very poor

Wow not what we were expecting at all. Very disappointed with this hotel. We had a tiny room that was on the 1st floor. With a swamp cooler as the air conditioner. As you know with those style air-conditioners you have to keep the window open. Which then kept the blinds open so people outside could see in to our room. There was a wooden stick in the window to keep it closed for safety. We felt very unsafe. The machine was so loud we couldn't hear the TV or sleep. It also didn't cool the room at all. The lights from cars and the other buildings were shining into our room all night. The door did not close completely so the lights and noise from the hall way kept us awake as well. We slept so terribly we left at 4am. Definitely do not recommend staying here.

Convenient location, very walkable around the hotel. 1. Windows were overlooking the street that's full of bars and it was EXTREMELY noisy at night. 2. Shared bathrooms were not very clean (we stayed in a room with shared facilities). 3. We stayed 3 nights and on the first day our room was tidied up in a usual way (fresh towels, etc) but on the 2nd day it was not. 4. Bed was very soft and plush, to the point where your spine bends and it feels like sleeping in a hammock - which my back did not like.

No elevator, just FYI. Very clean.

Bed is also mushy, they need updating

Pillows, all fluff, no stuff. Bed is also mushy, they need updating

The room was was nicely furnished and comfortable. Restaurants and shops were just outside the building.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Having to drag luggage down the street to check in, then drag them all the way back was a security issue. Rooms were forever small. Portable AC unit in room didn't work properly.

Otherwise fantastic! Spent a weekend there for a solo getaway and would definitely return. There’s a farmers market right outside on Sunday mornings which is an added bonus!

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Not great, room is small, best suited for a solo travelers. Not accessible outlets, no place to get ready. Fan and refrigerator take up so much room in an already small room.

    A+

  • Engine customer May 2026

The room was extremely small, and the bathrooms were not located within the room itself — something that was never made clear upfront. I requested a room in the main hotel building, not an separate annex. The photos displayed online are highly misleading and do not accurately represent what guests actually receive for the price paid.
