Smart Suites On The Hill

The room had bugs. A lot of bugs. The halls had a smell of mold and the carpet was buckled like there was a flood. Hard to roll luggage on it.

Kitchen available, we didn't it. The exterior is being updated with new windows and siding. Unfortunately the workers began their shift before 7:30, pounding outside our room. The bed wasn't great, partially collapsed in the middle. But every thing else worked fine. Only 6 guests stayed there when we were there.

On my first night I encountered roaches eating toothpaste off my toothbrush, as well as off the toothpaste tube. I snatched my toothbrush and they skittered down the drain of the sink. I spent the next half an hour wrapping my belongings in plastic bags. I wanted out of the hotel and the next morning asked the front desk clerk for the manager’s name and number, which she provided. I called the manager over and over throughout the day, to no avail; the phone just rang and rang—never going to voicemail. In the evening I asked a different clerk what gives. She called the manager personally; the manager relayed her apology, as well as an offer to remove the cost of one night’s stay. That offer seemed fine—until the next morning, when I got stuck in their elevator. On the morning of October 12 the hotel’s power went out, leaving me stuck in the elevator between floors. It was pitch black (no emergency lights). After about 20 seconds I could hear the power turn back on, though the elevator still didn’t move. I tried to pry open the doors, to no avail. Finally it started moving again. Add to these incidents the unkept state of the place: gross chunks of food on the floor of my room, exposed Tyvek on the outside, no housekeeping, no breakfast, no nothing. Larkin Hospitality should be ashamed.

Apparently they are closing and so had limited items available, such as no coffee. The room seemed clean, but the rest of the motel did not. They’re renovating. We could’ve been worn ahead of time. She could’ve even told us when we checked in that there wasn’t coffee available and that they were closing. Just was not a good situation and they should not be advertising online.

I would not stay here again

The place was in the middle of a renovation, the room smelt like cat piss, the whole place looked like it was falling apart. We didn’t end up actually staying the night as it was too gross

We were very surprised to see how dirty our rooms were. There was other people’s hair in the bathrooms. Did not look like the photos. There was another building being built on the property so where we were put didn’t even look open

This property was not at all as advertised. The building looked condemned when we pulled up and there was no sign outside. There was a hotel by the exact same name next door that we originally pulled into which had a nice lobby (much like the pictures on the listing I originally booked) and they told us they didn’t have a reservation for us and we must be at the Smart Suites next door. We were extremely disappointed when we went next door as it was in terrible condition, looked like a run down construction sight, and had no sign. The woman at the front desk was nice enough but the property was in extreme disrepair. Carpets were ripped and dirty, the whole place was musty and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The sinking bathroom wouldn’t drain and there was no hairdryer (looked like it had been ripped off the wall). Do not recommend!

Nothing in the kitchen. O amenities

The hotel is under construction. Hallways, stairways, and common areas are all very dirty. Had to be moved to a second room after the first room did not look like it had been cleaned. Construction crew started working on windows outside my room early in the morning.

They canceled my reservation!!! They told me after I booked the room that they really didn’t have a room after all

The property is a little confusing to find as there is another property called Smart Suites in front of this property but this is On the Hill. This property was under going construction so there were windows and building materials all in front and there was some noise early in the morning but it wasn’t too loud. The inside smelled a bit like smoke despite signs for no smoking. There were no trash cans in our room which was a bit inconvenient and we had to ask for towels of a usable size.

When you are two weeks away from closing a hotel for a complete remodel you should notify prior to arrival. WORST place EVER.

Rooms extremely run down. Don't even think they cleaned them. Sheets had stains on them so bad that i didn't even use them. They advertised an Ice machine that they don't use anymore. Also there was a very bad odor coming from the hallway. I would not stay there again.

The room was old, decrepid and poorly furnished.. There was a stove, but no cookware. There was a bed and 2 lamp stands in the bedroom, and no other furniture. No place to put suitcases or clothing. The sofa in the living area was about what you might expect to find out at the curb being given away for free to anyone willing to haul it away. The bathroom had fibers and wads of material from loose ceiling tiles everywhere. We didn't even consider using the shower. The fire detectoer chipped intermittently all night. The carpet was old and unclean. It wasn't even attached to the floor at the outside wall. There were lamps with no lightbulbs. The refrigerator made noise like a sci-fi movie flying saucer. For the price we paid, over $300, this was a grossly over-priced abomination.

Other areas smelled terrible like urine and smoke . We left immediately and requested a refund . Update your listing !!!!

This hotel is currently under renovation and it absolutely needs it. The wall paper is curling down, the moldings for the windows are falling down. The bathroom cabinet is broken. Overall the room just looks dirty and the sheets and carpet were stained. We did find a bug in the room as well. I would not currently suggest this hotel.
