Amazing location in the heart of St Pete! Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is spacious and lit for ambience. Mattress and pillows are quite firm. Continental breakfast is nice, what one would expect. The rooftop bar has an amazing view and is convenient, but is loud on weekends and noise can be heard in the room late into the night. Be aware there is no gym and no pool. The parking is valet, but only available 7am-11pm unless special request made. We enjoyed our stay.

Alexi was amazing she takes care of everything! Room was very spacious & very clean. Bar staff was very friendly but be aware your check automatically adds a 20 percent gratuity. Great location.

We were tired from our trip, so we unpacked and relaxed some before going down to the restaurant for dinner. The Birch and Ivy staff was also very friendly and the food was delicious. One of the first things our server did was explain that ther was a 20% service fee automatically added to the bill the is split amongst the staff. We appreciated them being upfront, as many restaurants do not reveal this information. We took desert and our drinks back to our room. Also received a 20% discount for being a hotel guest. The following day, my wife enjoyed a nice bath in the huge tub. The shower area was large as well with a nice rain showerhead. When I called for the car and it was there when asked. We went on our way to do some shopping and attend the Rays/Red Sox game and back at the hotel by 8:30. We parked the car in the valet area, gave the key to the front desk. The staff all seemed to know what room we were in and always asked if there was anything they could do for us. We only wish that the rooms had brighter lighting as we had to keep the shades closed on the windows due to the outside walkway.

Beautiful room, super-friendly staff, and wonderful view from the roof top bar and grille. Loved the area and The Birchwood.

The location was lovely being right on the water with a park in front also. The staff was attentive and very pleasant to work with. The room was very nice and comfortable. Only two things need to be addressed: the pillows are like a rock, so bring your own, and the breakfast feels like an after thought.

Signage/Name to locate the property could be better. We were first timers to St Pete and drove past it twice. All of the staff were polite and very helpful.

Shovel boutique hotel with charm and sophisticated . Rooms were large, spacious and exquisitely designed.

Location was perfect. The restaurant was phenomenal, a bit pricey but worth it. The room was spacious, beds and pillows were comfortable, the shower was not cleaned well but the overall cleanliness was great. Nice updates in the rooms.

2/10-COMFORT: bed looked pretty but not comfy for sleeping, loud creaks/squeaks with slightest movement. Baseboard is perfect shin/knee busting height. A/C turned off randomly in the middle of night. 1/10-VIEW: "Superior" means you're facing the inner outdoor part of the building so can't open your blinds/curtains unless you want strangers to walk by and see you undressing. Pick the park view option instead. 2/10-NOISE: walls are paper thin, you can hear every door opening/closing. If you're on the superior side it's like an echo chamber of all the loud passerbys into the late hours. 10/10-LOCATION: within easy walking distance of several nice restaurants for dinner/drinks and a lovely park for a morning walk. 10/10-STAFF: were super nice and even helped us with the valet process. 10/10-DECOR: style of rooms were clean & unique for a fun stay especially the bathroom! 4/10-BREAKFAST: highly recommend you switch suppliers, those individually wrapped pastries were dry/stale for the Continental breakfast.

My wife and I were very satified overall, particularly because of the staff. We were disappointed that neither the rooftop bar nor the hotel bar were open on Monday because "it's slow". There were other paying people in the hotel besides us who might have wanted a drink. I thought it was "cheap" not to staff the hotel bar on Monday.
