Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Staten Island

During our stay, our room and a couple other rooms on our floor lost power. It seemed to be a blown fuse or tripped breaker issue. When I informed the staff of the problem, the woman at the front desk was reluctant to call the handyman. When the handyman arrived, he agreed with me that it was probably a tripped breaker. He said that he would talk to the front desk about getting us a different room. No one contacted us. The power came back on at around 3am. When I spoke to the front desk the following morning about our issues, hoping for some kind of discount or at least an apology or an explanation, I got a story about rolling blackouts that have affected all of the hotels and homes in the area. The only problem with that explanation is that blackouts don’t hit specific rooms in a hotel…unless the hotel is paying separate utility bills for different portions of the hotel, which is ludicrous. So no. I was not happy with my stay.

Floor in room was sticky

From the moment you walk in you can tell the place needs maintenance. The elevator is small. Once we were on our floor the hallway had a stale smell. Our room had a strong smell of mold, mostly coming from the bathroom. The carpet felt damp, and visibly dirty. It’s ok to stay 1-2 nights anything more than that you’ll be uncomfortable especially if you have 4 or more people in a room. Rooms are on the small side. On the flip side every employee I meet were so nice, helpful and polite.

Air Conditioner good. Floor carpets not clean. No cleaning service provided. TV channels outdated. Venue far remote from main Island. Room small, espcially for a king size room.

BTW -elevator WAS working. lol Rooms were very small but worked for the two of us since we were out the entire day. Fire alarms seem to go off after a shower so had to try to keep the bathroom door closed which made it hot/humid.

We got to the room where there were had marks everywhere. My daughter picked up and almost ate candy that was left on the floor before we got there. I tried to look past all of that until I opened the window to look outside where I saw 2 Rats running around.

The room was clean and modern. Loved the complimentary breakfast. Would most definitely stay here again.

Room was very small but the hotel was conveniently located and the price was decent.

Good customer service and clean property

Weekend front desk manager was inconsiderate and bias towards LBGTQ adults. She locked a paying customer out of the hotel one night because they were smoking outside. Very unprofessional.

Cleanliness Far from everything

Got in on a tuesday one hour early and girl at the front desk did not allow me to check in. When I returned at night the front desk guy was super friendly

Staff very friendly , nice quiet setting The fact you take a extra deposit and we have to wait to receive it back

The rooms are clean. The only thing that I did not like was, I was not told that you have to request your room to get cleaned.

Everything was great from start to finish only the front desk lady kept putting my card and ID down instead of putting it in my hands.
