Howard Johnson by Wyndham Staunton

Very old and run down facility. Room was spacious but musty smelling. Breakfast consisted only of toast, muffins, and dry cereal. Cleaning staff did not appear to have a mop so person on duty used a towel and his foot to “clean” all floor tiles in lobby. I will not use this facility again and would not recommend it to others.

Property did not look the way the pic looked when booking. Not clean very uncomfortable setting

They let me park my Harley under cover. No waffle machine but they still had waffles.

Close to town No fridge in room. Carpet run down. Overall looks down at the heels.

There was hair along the wall(s) of the bathroom. In need of better or another mattress. Lumpy and hard to sit on edge of bed, more like a slant.

close to what i needed.Train station was a half mile walk.maid service.Staff were friendly No fridge or microwaves in the rooms..Water never got hot in the shower warm.

Good location, it was quiet. The smell in the room was very strange, the closet was blocked.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. No issues within the room. Was told the room should have microwaves, although this did not effect my stay, there would be no microwaves (except in the common area. I would say this should be addressed soon. As well as the broken ice machine on the 3rd floor.

The pillows were lumpy and should have been replaced. The included breakfast was the cheapest I have seen. Absolute bare minimums to call it breakfast and served in a drab breakfast room. Simply not worth going to.

This is not your grandfather’s Howard Johnson, although probably built then. The room was comfortable and clean, although the lobby, hallways, and elevator are seedy. The elevator functioned well. I did not use the pool, but it, and the pool area looked nice. The nightly rate was reasonable, but you get what you pay for.

Breakfast was typical grab and go. Food ok, just mostly continental breakfast. Room was typical 2 bed non-smoking and seemed clean. Shortest and smallest commode I have seen. Conveniently located. I checked out yesterday morning and through yesterday and today have developed what can only be many bedbug bites. I called the facility and she agreed to a refund. The room was fairly nice, but public areas need upgrading inside and out. Our outdoor opening room only opened facing a metal wall. No view. Only 1 small elevator frequently used. I would not stay again.

My stay was excellant-no concerns about the room, staff or anemities. The staff was good. Overall place was clean…..a little dated, but my room was clean and in excellent shape. The maid service was very good. I guess I was a little disappointed. I didn’t have a mini fridge for a room that was $80 a night and then using the stairwell it smelt like urine-if I need to mention anything that was a minor concern- not hard complaints and the area was very nice but it did seem like there was some people living around there that were struggling. God bless them all.

I was very surprised about how nice the place was because from the outside it didn't look the best. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. They had a pool and that was great surprise for the kiddos we had with us. The staff were very nice and helpful towards us. I would definitely stay here again.

Front desk was friendly and welcoming! Room wasn’t fancy, but very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for our stay, easy walk downtown

Location Pool wasn’t heated

The shower could have been cleaner. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
