Howard Johnson by Wyndham Staunton

Room was of a decent size. It had microwave, small fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer which which was very useful. It also had a coffee maker, but I didn't use it. The only downside was that, although it was labeled as a non-smoking room and it was written that it has been serviced to be such a room, every time you would walk into the room from outside, it would smell like a smoker's room. The hotel has a washer and dryer coins operated, another useful feature if you stay longer. Staff was wonderful. My nephew turned 10 during our stay and tha staff bought him birthday cake, card and present. Breakfast was decent: cereals, waffles, bagels, toast, butter, peanuts butter, cream cheese, jam, oatmeal, juice, coffee, tea, apples, bananas... My nephew and I loved the most "Swiss Miss" chocolate powder and we enjoyed hot chocolate every morning. There was plenty of parking space in front of the hotel. Considering everything, I will definitely stay there again if I come to Staunton.

The room stunk of marijuana and we found remnants left in the night stand. The bathroom had hair in the tub and on the walls we didn’t even use it once! The whole property had a smell including the terrible elevator. Breakfast was disgusting and unclean as well. Go anywhere else to stay. The pool looked nice but the overall stay was so gross we didn’t even want to go in the pool.

The pet fee is great! Very reasonable. My room was clean and the staff were always friendly and helpful. I will stay here again.

Very nice lady at checkin. Easy to find , super unique postcard like town . Loved it - location was fantastic. It’s an older hotel - but conditions were 100% up / you gotta appreciate older things .thanks for having me !

Nothing The roaches

Very old and run down facility. Room was spacious but musty smelling. Breakfast consisted only of toast, muffins, and dry cereal. Cleaning staff did not appear to have a mop so person on duty used a towel and his foot to “clean” all floor tiles in lobby. I will not use this facility again and would not recommend it to others.

Location was great The property rooms REALLY needs to be renovated! They are to the point of being nasty.

Convenient to downtown Shower and tub was in bad shape. Tub drain had rust around it and the bathroom appeared dirty.

Property did not look the way the pic looked when booking. Not clean very uncomfortable setting

Close to town No fridge in room. Carpet run down. Overall looks down at the heels.

There was hair along the wall(s) of the bathroom. In need of better or another mattress. Lumpy and hard to sit on edge of bed, more like a slant.

close to what i needed.Train station was a half mile walk.maid service.Staff were friendly No fridge or microwaves in the rooms..Water never got hot in the shower warm.
