Sonesta ES Suites Sunnyvale

The lobby area and rooms are very clean and modern and the pool and patio area are so nice and relaxing. The breakfast was also great. The refill water station is a plus and the snacks and special drink at the lobby were a nice extra to have each day. Another wonderful item is the resident cat who is taken care of by the staff. So cute!This says a lot about the staff and their concern for animals. There are lots of stray cats in this area - poor things. Nice to see that the staff tries to help. One of the staff behind the desk is off-putting. Each time he spoke to me he wanted to make sure he told me what rules not to break. His approach is irritating. If I asked a question he would answer it and then add something like “but now the hot tub is not a kiddie pool, no children allowed” and in a tone that was SO CONDESCENDING and PRESUMPTUOUS. I hated having to talk to him. One time I heard him awkwardly “joke” with a staff member’s son, and it was really bullying, but this man tried to play it off as joking. Obvi he is loud so anything he says to anybody can be heard by all.

Everything was comfortable, clean, and inviting. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Very poor experience. I originally booked September 22–24 for $876.36 including taxes, then extended the stay to four nights through Booking.com. On arrival, I found the hotel and room covered in old wall-to-wall carpeting. I have a severe dust allergy and informed the front desk immediately. After developing respiratory allergy symptoms, I had to start medication and steroid spray and shorten my stay. When I checked out after two nights, Sonesta increased the rate and charged me $1,508.34 — almost double the price of my original two-night booking. When I questioned this, Richard told me they could have sold the room for $800 per night because of events in the area. I have dealt with hotels before when a medical allergy forced a change of stay and was always treated with understanding. At Sonesta, instead, I was financially penalized for leaving because of a health issue. Extremely disappointing.

Clean comfy Cost

Upon checking in they required a 250$ deposit , which takes 4-10 business days to get back! They charge 9$ a night for parking but provide no security and they also charge 2-6$ fees for im not sure what. Our TV had no signal and we were just told sorry no maintenence man was on so we went without. No offer to comp even a small percentage for the inconvenience. I will say he let us park our motorcycle for free but he made it clear he would charge us if we stayed there again. No television misc. Charges. I've never been charged for parking at a motel in my entire life!

Room was great. Nice property. Close to a nice Turkish restaurant that was great. Their phone isn't working and we had tried to call them before check-in. That needs to be fixed. But other than that was great.

Loved everything about this property. Very clean and well maintained and quiet. The pool was very nice and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious with different options every day. The staff were very informative and kind. I would say the only negative is the deposit is $250 which is a bit steep in my opinion. Definitely staying again.

I was greeted by friendly staff who were very professional. Got checked in quickly and as even sent a text asking how I was doing. that's a classy touch. overall wonderful experience at Sonesta. I will be returning

Amazing room! It was like having my own little condo. It is what hotels should be. Clean, roomy, very quiet, and really nice. I traveled for work and there was zero noise, so I rested well. The only thing would be I wish the hot tub was open later. It closes at 9pm. Very early. Should be open for adults only till 10pm, for in the morning it is full with children and it is a small hot tub. After a long drive, it would have been nice to relax and take a dip. Overall though the hotel was great! I requested top floor and it was perfect. Definitely would stay again.
