Talkeetna Inn

Clean and comfortable room that worked for our family. We enjoyed visiting with everyone at the bar and playing pool. It was very centrally located to the town and views from the river.

The room was spotless, and the staff was incredibly helpful. There’s a bar on-site, which was a nice touch. The parking was conveniently located outside the rooms, which was great. I only stayed for one night, but it was raining all day, so I couldn’t enjoy the amenities outside the room. However, the location is perfect.

While the staff was great, this property is in need of a makeover. The furnishings are pretty old and the room smelled a little musty.

Was helpful that they picked me up from the train station. The staff was pretty good. The rooms were clean. The price was a little expensive for my taste.

We truly enjoyed our magical stay right on the riverbank. We played corn hole and loved how walkable to property is to the rest of Talkeetna. The staff were helpful and the shuttle system for the train depot ran smoothly. I would happily stay there again.

Loved staying at the Talkeetna Inn. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly! Very close to downtown and we were able to walk everywhere. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in a room with a beautiful view of the river and Denali. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a mix up with our reservation and the staff was so nice, helpful and accommodating! They were awesome!

Next to river near flood stage. Also smelled damp inside. Decided to leave shortly after checking in for higher ground.

This was an awesome find! I just wished we'd tried it on previous trips. We had previously only stayed at the Talkeetna Lodge - which was more than twice the price and a drive to get to town. We also didn't realize that that wasn't the only great view of the mountain. We wanted to save some money, so this trip we took a chance on the Talkeetna Inn and LOVED it! It's at the end of town so you can walk to to everything. The "Dive" bar was our favorite place - the drinks were fantastic, the bartenders were a ton of fun and the prices were great. The rooms were clean and well equipped, and in a four minute walk and you see the perfect viewing of Mt. Denali! We got super lucky and caught her on a clear day. Can't say enough - Just stay here!!

Convenient location, nice clean room, and friendly staff.

Talkeetna Inn is a serviceable but no frills motel in a really beautiful and interesting place. We were glad it was there. Our room was very small, very basic and clean. It was a very short walk to food, shopping and the river.

Property is located on the edge of downtown so it’s a very convenient walking distance. The map makes it look farther than it really is. If you want a good location this is it. Price was decent being summer in Alaska. Room wasn’t fancy but it was clean. They don’t have a TV in the room, or at least our room didn’t have one. I don’t know if that’s standard and I overlooked it but if that’s important to you then check that your room has one. For us that was a surprise but not a deal breaker. We arrived late since we had to drive up from Whittier. We picked up our keys in the bar. About the bar, it was packed that night. It seemed there was a party. Seemed mostly filled with locals and they were friendly. If we weren’t tired we would have hung out there too. Parking was a little tight due to the party but we found parking. Ground was muddy due to all the rain but that’s also not on the hotel. Just something to be aware of. Here’s the nice thing. Even though there was a huge party in the bar we couldn’t hear it at our room or near the room. The noise or people don’t come by the rooms so don’t have to worry about that. Other than that hotel was basic. No complaints and I’d stay there again.
