Check in was odd via a Nest camera, but the room was clean. Out of the several inexpensive Motels that we have stayed in Tucumcari, it was the best so far.

    AC was very loud

What amenities? This place is all budget. No-one working the front desk in the evening, just talking to you through the security cameras in the lobby. Minimal towels in bathroom, and when requesting more, was told there was no-one on-site to fulfill request. We didn’t expect magic, but this was pretty shoddy, even for a budget place.

No one was in the office for check in (we arrive a little after 3 pm, so it's not like we were early). I had to call, which is ok, but I was told no one would be there for another 1.5 hours. I was told my room wasn't ready yet, but I could be given a key (by whom if no one is there, did she mean 1.5 hours later and WHY if it's not even clean?!). I was then asked for my CVC number, over the phone, by someone I cannot even guarantee WORKS for this place, so of course, I said no, I would wait until check in and give that info in person. We left, without being checked in or even being given any kind of straightforward time to come back. It was raining and we had already driven nearly 10 hours to get there so I was ready to get checked in and we obviously couldn't. I went to the website AND booking.com and requested a cancelation but I have to pay for a room I was never able to check in and use. Quite a rip off. I am not at all happy with the service, and honestly, the "lobby" smelled old and musty. I wasn't impressed with the outside of the motel either. I was immediately able to book a room, for almost the same price, at the Desert Inn and they were great as always! I should have just gone with my usual, the Desert Inn, in the first place. I will NOT try this place again and I surely won't recommend it. I can't help but wonder if all of the good comments online are from friends & relatives or just plain fake because I didn't see anything worth bragging about. See above

    Vibes of Route 66

The owners were sweet and very welcoming. Cute little hotel with historical nostalgia. Pillows were flat

It is old, like route 66 - rooms are a bit on the small side, but it has been nicely updated. The price was nice, and the staff was super friendly. Old style metal key, with the elongated diamond shaped fob - got to love it

It appeared to have been recently updated and renovation was on going in the motel complex in other rooms.

Nice location. Small family run restaurant with all made to order food, teas and lemonades, right next to the office.

  • Engine customer May 2026

Everything was clean and comfortable. No complaints.

Booked a double room over 2 months from my stay and yet they put me in a king room. They offered to refund me but we stayed and they brought a rollaway bed. Room and hotel were very clean and quiet. Conveniently On route 66. Would stay again if in the area.

Hotel was a very fair price for what we needed. It’s more of a just passing through and need a place to take a quick shower and get some rest. Air-conditioning works room is very dated. However it is clean and usable.

Location, staff and doing the best they can with what is around them. Small gift shop and restaurant next door was a good breakfast option! Photo attached was in the window! That was funny!!!! Shower area was old and creepy. Door locks were flimsy.

It was a fun place on Route 66. they're working on it to update, but we were satisfied. Awesome place to eat. Right there, across the parking lot called Dell's food is a great breakfast lunch and dinner full bar. We waited 30 min. for dinner breakfast, we got in. Cute gift shop, and everyone is so kind at both places. We were a little concerned at first we were hauling our bike but very well lit up with cameras. I believe it will be our go-to since we travel twice a year.!! All was well. I didn't use a shower, and if I did, I would have worn flip flops. Like I said, work is in progress but worth it. 8th

Shower was super schetchy, did not use No microwave Tv unplugged, tiny and no basic channels Asked for 2nd floor room but got ground level instead Right on highway and super noisy Said there were 2 restaurants, coffee shop and deli bur all we saw was a menu at the front desk and it closed 15 minutes after we got there. Smoking no allowed in the rooms but guests were smoking right outside their open doors! No drop box or front desk person when we went to check out in the morning so I took a picture of the key (yes a key!) In the basket that I set it in.

Very easy to park with my trailer and pet friendly. Front desk clerk was friendly. Internet was fast. The bed was comfortable for the night and the facility pretty quiet. Everything was in perfect working order. The box spring cover really needed a good cleaning. The shower tiles were chipping and the sink was filthy. While I appreciate I could bring my animals, There was not a lot of space for the sm/med sized kennel in our specific room (it had to block the door to fit, I suppose I could have left it in the car if I thought I could let them sleep in the bed but I didn't).

The staff was nice, the hotel was definitely 50's rt 66 classic. Stairway scary, shower control broken, we didn't know it shared a parking lot with a bar--pretty noisy. It kept the dog in the room next to us barking long into the morning. No breakfast.
