Holiday Inn Resort The Squire at Grand Canyon by IHG

Great location close to the park and several restaurants in Tusayan. Loved the pool, hot tub, and grab and go shop. Staff were always helpful and friendly.

Also, finding parking was challenging. We had to park a long way from our room and walk to our section.

Room was nice, pools were nice too, jacuzzi was pretty good. Gym... will skip that topic. E bike rental in the hotel is very nice too. I would give hotel 8.9/10 overall

Great property! Dinner was excellent and Foley was a fantastic server. We loved the lounge area in the lobby.

Close to Grand canyon so location is excellent but Tusayan is not a great town to stay in. Stay inside the park if at all possible. HI rooms were comfortable. Nothing special but perfectly fine. Breakfast was pretty good other than scrambled eggs that werent real eggs. Staff is generally pleasant and helpful. Weird that the rooms dont have phones so you cant call front desk if you have a need or a question. Theres very little to choose from in Tusayan but HI is one of the better choices. Terrible food options in the town. Make reservations to eat in the park

Room was very dirty. I was very disappointed by my stay and by the response from the manager on duty Guillermo. We arrived after flying in from across the country and driving three hours to the hotel at night, and checked in to a room that had almost like tar on the floor. When we informed the staff it was essentially that we could stay or leave, because they were booked. I was in shock bc I’ve never been treated this way in a hotel especially one where I’m paying 200$ a night. they sent someone to look at it and take pictures but never came back and we were told we would be offered a clean room once one opened up, which the room across the hall and on side of us was empty the next day. But yet , we weren’t allowed or offered another room or any compensation further. Thankfully we didn’t spend too much time in the room on our four day trip.

Beds were very comfortable. Carpeting was filthy and stained. Needs replacement. 1 of our party has asthma and got sick from dirty carpet!

Great staff and location!

I reserved a room with a King bed and we were put in a room with a King bed and a set of bunk beds. Not a big deal, however the room had a strong urine smell. I also requested in my reservation that we needed a feather free room due to allergies. Not only were the pillows down, but so was the comforter. My husband had to make due with making a pillow from the bunk bed blanket stuffed in a pillow case.

Just be aware what you booking. Hotel name really is Squire. It have very nice main building with all the amenities in it, like restaurants and pool bars and other nice things. Unfortunately they have small satellite buildings around which looks like old motels rooms they probably bought with whole property ground. I can only review building #2000 which we stay. Horrible experience they assigned us to the first room by the main entrance. There is no lobby or anything like it in the building so everyone using area next to door as meeting point to starting or finishing trip. Literally all morning from 5am all groups small and larger standing there to discuss their plans. And again all evening from 7pm do midnight every group using this spot to share their experiences from sightseeing. On the top I've machine is right there so every20-30 minutes you being woken up by ice machine noise. We have just horrible experience in this hotel, and for The range of $300-350 per night you would expect something better. I'm again not saying everyone experience will be the same, but make sure when you reserve your stay find out which building you going to stay because it make huge difference. On the pictures you only see main building which is just highly misleading. Now you have been warned, decision is yours, but know there are much better choices around for the price, especially when you book (like me ) 5-6 months ahead.

It was a great place to stay near the Grand Canyon. There are plenty of places to eat in the area and there were elk walking around the parking lot!

We found the property well maintained and the rooms clean. We had a great time and would stay at Holiday Inn again.
