Hampton Inn & Suites Des Moines/Urbandale

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well maintained. Fitness room had useful equipment.

The hotel is convenient to the interstate. It’s very clean and well maintained. Very dog friendly with lots of places to walk the dog. Bathroom amenities were nice and there were water dispenses throughout. Breakfast was very good with many choices. The room had useful appliances including fridge, microwave and coffee maker.

This is our favorite hotel in the Des Moines area! We go there a few times a year for my son's doctor's appointments. The breakfast is great with a nice variety (waffles, cereal, eggs, potatoes, sausages, muffins, toast and bagels). They had a berry waffle batter and it was so delicious! The pool is good size and very clean. The hot tub is also a favorite of ours! I needed to use the business center for a few zoom classes, it's nice they have it. We had no issues and the staff was great! We stayed in one of their bigger rooms and it's perfect for a family of four!

Staff was exceptional. We had a problem with our room and it was handled immediately. The room we ended up with was wonderfully, and the bed was the best we've had in years. Would stay again if we are in the area. Snack vending area needs to be freshened. Needs more options.

The property changed our reserved room without notification. Once we were checked in and saw the room and brought it to their attention, then they offered a discount.

My only complaint were the luggage carts were so small. I had to take 2 trips. I didnt let that affect my rating though. Jesse at the front was super nice !

It was clean and comfie...the bed was uncomfortable to me... it was firm, and my back just killed me after sleeping

It was fair. Location fine, breakfast fine Our room has visible bodily fluids on wall near bed. We were out all day and didn’t notice until we were in bed and exhausted. It was disgusting and for what we paid per night completely unacceptable. We requested at least a discount for first night but didn’t happen. Was told GM doesn’t work on weekends. Picture doesn’t do justice to what it looked like in real life

This place was seriously clean and comfy, making for a super relaxing stay. The pool area was a total blast, and the breakfast spread was just amazing. It felt so welcoming for the whole family. Plus, getting to the city was an absolute breeze.

Clean and friendly

We have stayed at Hampton Inns all across this country, and the Urbandale location is by far our favorite one. We have stayed here a few times, and will more than likely stay a few more times. It's always a welcome place to be. Highly recommend it to others !!

Facility was clean, rooms neat and organized. The only issues were, (1) the mattress had a sagging dip in the middle and was very uncomfortable and the pillows had no fluff or form/shape to them - even stacking 2 pillows provided little support. The breakfast was very tasty with well-seasoned potatoes and eggs - the bacon was thin and crisp and the sausage had a good flavor. Overall, we would stay here again, bringing our own pillows and comforter. The pool was over-run by a group of girls (age 10) and few adults, which did not allow for anyone else to enjoy the facilities. It would have been nice if something was mentioned to the "adults" about the loudness and activities of the girls running around, oblivious to anyone else but themselves, in and out of the pool and hot tub. The adults present were not mindful of the children at all but engrossed in their own party. This was not the hotels' fault, but an issue that should have been addressed by the staff for the comfort of all patrons who paid for rooms and amenities.

Although they gave our room away, they did call the Hilton Garden Inn that was less then 5 minutes away and let them know the situation. I contacted the hotel through the booking messenger app and called them directly at 8pm to let them know we would be arriving at 12:25am. When we arrived at 12:25am there were no rooms available, they had given our room to someone else. Had I booked through the Hilton app or put this stay on my Hilton app, I could have checked in earlier and avoided this unfortunate event. I do not believe early online check in is available on the booking app??

The size of the room. Breakfast The phone didn't work to call the front desk. Asked for extra chair and had to get it myself.

Fast check in, friendly staff, clean room with a fantastic shower with great water pressure!
