Split Mountain Motel

We didn’t even stay the Motel was under construction and closed

Received confirmation for our stay at Split Mountain Motel in Vernal, UT. However, when we arrived, the motel was being remodeled and not open for business. We were left scrambling for a place to stay. Much to our dismay our credit card was charged for $208. Booking. com is working to fix the mess up. Here's hoping.

This motel is closed for remodel. It's a scam because they still accept reservations, take your money and you have no place to stay. You could have stated the fact that this motel is closed and unavailable.

Nothing I didn't like that the property closed and shut down in January 2026 and it was still listed on Booking.com in May 2026. I got left in a small town at night with almost no options. Booking.com - never again!

They were not accepting guests and your stupid site confirmed my booking also I didn't stay there you should get your shit straight and if I get charged I will file a fraud claim you very oreeschool level bull crap at this site confirmed booking to a hotel that is under renovation and not even open to receiving giests That your site reserves rooms to a hotel that is closed and wants to spout some bullshit about me having to pay a cancellation fee then there was not even a room available by or service sucks I have stayed at the split mtn hotel multiple times previously and was always happy not the fancyest place but it was clean an decent

Great owner! Rooms were pretty clean. Motel could use an update. Location is tough next to a noisy road that you can hear all night.

Not much. There was light bulbs burned out. Mold in the shower. Stopper in the sink wouldn't come up. The light and stopper were fixed. The AC and the lights has dust and dirt on them. The muffins were old hard as a rock.

The owner was extremely understanding and accommodating to my changes in schedule. The location was on a busy interstate highway, and there were no crosswalks nearby. This is not an issue with the Property, but rather it's location. Resolution must come with the City of Vernal.

Good hotel for the price. I would stay there again. It's close to the highway, so you do get some traffic noise.

The hotel was nice.

Not what I was expecting. The breakfast was a waffle maker, toast, some apples, milk, and some small muffins. No hot dishes such as eggs or bacon or sausage. We decided to go to JB'S for the breakfast buffet instead.

The manager was very pleasant and upgraded me for free to a double bed so me and my buddy didn't have to sleep in the same bed. Very friendly very quiet and everything was up to par. I will see you next year for sure I like everything. We came into town for a motorcycle rally called too broke for Sturgis and the manager was very polite and professional. The event was literally a half a block away so we could walk. Again don't read the bad reviews because they are crazy it's a great place.

Man up front seemed a little rude at first but ended up being cool, I liked him Sheets kind of dirty

The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and made my stay more enjoyable

Bathroom is old and worn, hot and cold water is backwards.

Had to take batteries out of smoke detector at 1:30am. But over all decent place for a quick overnight.

Great affordable place to stay, service was helpful and provided great recommendations for what to do and eat in town. Definitely will be staying again when I’m back in Vernal.

This was a decent place to stay but there was no hot water. The staff was great, quickly accommodating our request to store our ice packs in their freezer. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The inn is on a major highway so it was a bit noisy.

I didn't like the breakfast, it wasn't much but it worked I think they could work on that but the coffee was good! Thanks!
