Spark By Hilton Walker Grand Rapids North

last year I stayed in this hotel and was very pleased. This year I chose to book again and immediately upon stepping off the elevator, the amount of filth that was evident was alarming. The room had a chemical smell that was used to mask a musty odor. I asked to switch rooms. I was accommodated. The room was much cleaner, however, whomever was occupying the room above me was literally pounding and running around until 1 AM. I had to call the front desk twice. Got a terrible night sleep left in the morning to a downtown hotel that was top-notch for the same price.

The gal at the welcome counter was especially helpful and pleasant. I believe that her name was Alicia.

The window had a big crack in it. There was mold buildup in the caulking in the shower. There was duct tape holding in a smoke detector. The amount of marijuana smoke right outside of the rear entry was enough to get high just walking in. The yogurt machine, orange juice, and ice machines were out of order. I would definitely try somewhere else next time.

The front desk staff was very friendly and kind. The ladies who clean the rooms spoke no english so they were not able to assist me when I asked them a question. My bathroom was not very clean and they seemed to have just cleaned. The ice machines on 2 floors were not working and then I gave up looking for ice. You can hear every movement on the floors above you. I was disappointed in my stay but I do not base this on the front desk because they were very friendly and kind.

Easy parking . A nice place to stay for a visit to the area.

The Vanilla Yogurt for breakfast WHEN THE MACHINE WORKED. They triple billed me for $474.28 locked up all my travel money and basically left me a senior disabled veteran out too find for myself. I'd never use them again and I want my money back.

Very pleasantly surprised by the high quality and healthy options available at the breakfast buffet. Quiet, spacious and comfortable room. Large and comfy bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Can't really think of anything

Very slim Pickens for breakfast, both mornings. No yogurt. Banana was mush the first day, absent the next. OJ was water. Not mixed.
