TownePlace Suites by Marriott Des Moines West/Jordan Creek

When I returned later, their computer system was down, delaying check-in until about 3 PM. Before receiving my room, I reminded the same employee about the upcoming reservation, and again I was told everything was handled and I would just need to stop by the front desk the next morning. The next morning, the same employee suddenly couldn't find the reservation and acted like our previous conversations never happened. Even though I had the reservation numbers and my aunt's credit card was already on file, I was told there was nothing they could do because the reservation was in my aunt's name. Their only solution was for me to call corporate, which didn't even have a direct number—just an automated system that texted me the same phone number. After wasting a significant amount of time, I ended up paying for my own room anyway. My aunt even made two trips to the hotel trying to straighten everything out, and it was still a mess. There are much better hotels in the area with staff who know how to handle reservations. I will never stay here again.

Great place to stay. Convenient everywhere in West Des Moines. And so many places to go and see in that area. The hotel is beautiful, clean, very well maintained.

Great breakfast, comfy bed, friendly staff. Will stay again!

The pool was in disrepair. Green, murky water and very humid pool room. Staff informed us after check in that there were issues and advised not to swim. The room was in disrepair as well. Drawers wouldn't stay shut and TV was smallest Ive ever seen. Beds were comfortable, but room didnt feel clean. Cords exposed.

It was busy with several sports teams staying on the property. There were times when there was limited staff available @ the front desk. It seemed there were a couple employees stationed there so it was a bit frustrating that there was a significant wait for assistance.

Everything was great, I just left something in the fridge, and I'm hoping they call to tell me they will return it. I know 100% it was left in the fridge. Hotel was in Des Moines - TownePlace Suites by Marriott Des Moines WEST. 6/7/26

Loved the room and the area is great with plenty of places to eat and shop and have fun. We had a king room and it was way better than I ever thought it could be.

We stayed at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Des Moines West/Jordan Creek for a volleyball tournament for the weekend. We had the 2 bedroom suite and it was a great room. The morning breakfast was perfect to get something and head out. They have 2 amazing patios to hang out at as well as the location was right across the street from the Mall and many other places. We will stay here again next year. It was a hit with the families.

That we had a room reserved, confirmed, received emails the day before our stay about check in time etc and when we arrived we were told we didn’t have a room that they were overbooked, and had sent an email telling us that. The email was sent from an “Alice Champagne” and went to my spam folder, so we never saw it. This was completely inexcusable.

I didn’t have the included breakfast, but my room was clean and comfortable. I’ll stay again for sure.

Booked through Expedia and no cooperation is made with them on cancellations. Don't allow API connections to your facilities if you dont help the customers who show up. Not using Marriott TownePlace on my bookings anymore.
